PART I. PHYSICAL Full name:: Garth Reasons for the name(s):: The name can mean either 'the keeper of the garden' or 'an enclosed garden', and he was named for the former in hopes he would be of a benefit to the newly founded Village. Only later did he come to encompass both meanings. Sex:: Male Apparent Age/Approximate Age:: Garth appears to in his thirties, perhaps even late twenties, but in truth he is centuries old. He spent a very long time as an Ust. If he/she was alive during the masacres, was he/she bonded? To whom? He was born in the midst of the slaughter, soon after the village had been set up to parents that had survived and fled from the massacre. Rank:: Sargtlin If a Daewl, what is his/her one power?:: n/a Skin Tone/Apparent Race:: Dark tan, may look Italian Height:: 6' even Weight/Body Build:: He's built quite large, broad-chested and thin-waisted. He's around 200 lbs, most of it muscle. Hair:: Black, which he tries to keep trimmed but usually ends up in wild array around his face. Eyes:: Dark orange Ear colours/markings:: Black (or dark gray) with black tiger-striped markings Tail colours/markings:: Same as his ears Peculiar Physical Traits:: None Distinguishing Marks:: Black tattoo marks all over his body, especially his face. They are tribal-esque tiger stripes that swipe over his cheeks and dip from his forehead. Health:: Tip-top physical shape, although his cholesterol is probably through the roof along with another medley of dietary needs. Senses:: Average Voice:: Baritone Mannerisms:: Garth seems to present a very fierce exterior, generally grunting at others or depending on body language for communication. When he does speak, he keeps everything short and sweet. He has a way of softening around children, however. He does a lot of his work gradually, but is entirely efficient that way. Despite his gruff communication, his motions are very fluid and he often seems pensive. Clothes/shoes/accessories:: Usually dressed in dark clothing, black in particular. Black tunic, some under-armor when on patrol, pants, durable boots. Wears a knife on his belt at all times, has one strapped between his shoulder-blades beneath his clothes just in case. Wearing a quiver and bow usually as well. Eating habits/mannerisms/tastes:: He usually subsists on meat alone as a substance, and is pretty disgusting when he eats. Depending on what it is, he may tear it open raw or smoke it at his home. Doesn't seem to have heard of a knife or fork or plates or dishes. Then again, he never goes to anything formal for eating. Every now and then he will eat some vegetables and fruit, though he detests them. He'll eat things like fish with the bones still in if the mood strikes him, crack open a bird egg and swallow the yolk raw then proceed to eat the shell.

PART II. GENERAL Occupation/Social Status in Rank:: Acts as both a patrol and a ranger of the southern boarder of the village. He makes sure no one gets in and no one gets out without permission, by any means short of an actual fight. He is viewed as a lone wolf type and is feared by some because of his looks, despite his occupation. Garth also minds a collection of rabbits that live in a Jivvin-made warren in the forest, raising them as livestock for the village. Views on Rank responsibilites:: Though he doesn't really care for the ranks themselves, he does believe in everyone pulling their own weight. He serves his duty without complaint, because he knows he is providing a use through it. Education/ Intelligence:: Although not book smart, Garth is a very practical and insightful being. While suspicious by nature, he often finds himself at a disadvantage when presented with a subject he knows nothing about. Therefor he grudgingly trusts information given to him on the subject until he learns otherwise, and in this way he's quite open. He has an excellent memory for someone who's lived as long as he has, and a lot of things he has learned through experience. While he may not be able to recount his times tables, he can usually judge a character well and has good common sense. Marital Status:: Bachelor Political Thoughts/ Views of Ranks and Vhaid:: Garth recalls a time where what was left of the Jivvins worked as one under the cause of making a haven for all, regardless of what rank they had been granted. Because of this, and the open way his mother has always acted, he will always see and judge another by their character and not by rank. He is mistrustful of everyone, but gives them the benefit of the doubt until he's proved otherwise, even Olplyns. He would keep this information to himself unless asked, and would not fight over it. He respects the Council because they are the elected leaders, and he would obey their every word without question. Beliefs/ Values/ Strength of Beliefs:: Garth is a strong believer in rules and regulations, something he feels no one is above and stands as an equalizer. He believes in the value of acting right, not as what suits at the time to gain what is desired. He can't tolerate a deceiver. He believes that everyone is out to take something from him and use him if they're given the chance. At the same time he doesn't believe in letting a family do without while he prospers. So he believes in giving and sharing, but he won't give anything if he's needled for it. He knows that he's not always right, but he doesn't believe in stepping down in the face of someone who is arrogant. What is his/her usual disposition?:: Gruff, but not mean. Optimist/ Pessimist? :: Realist, bordering on pessimism Confident/Self-conscious? :: Confident in the sense that he often knows what he's doing and what he's getting into. Self-conscious when speaking or connecting with others, something that he isn't used to anymore. How does he/she feel about his/her appearance? :: He likes his appearance because it says everything about him that he wants it to- fierce and efficient. Usually it does a great job of disheartening troublemakers and anyone else he chooses to turn it on. Most important possession:: A portrait of his mother, the one thing he couldn't stand losing. Talents :: Archery, knife-throwing, tracking, nothing too interesting. What is a normal day like for this Jivvin?:: He wakes up early and checks his warren out in his set patch of forest, taking count of his rabbits to make sure none have somehow escaped the boarders or been taken by another animal. The warren is built in parts that he can pull up from the ground by disguised handles. He's able to bar off certain parts with slats that fit in grooves specifically for the purpose, but at this point the rabbits are being particularly stubborn and he's had to dig up the portion. Once he has his count, if any rabbits are injured, seem to be sick, or pregnant, he transports them to his own home to tend to them. A break where he has time to do whatever, either training, going further into the village for any service, or simply chilling out at home. His patrol usually happens in the evening until late at night. He then comes home for a meal, sits up a little longer with time to himself. Sleep, repeat. What is a normal rainy day like for this Jivvin?:: Leaves on the bare minimum of clothes and goes out to close up the openings to the warren so it doesn't get flooded. Comes back and sits in front of his fire until he's dry again, then likely goes out for a run of his own. Rainy days make for good endurance training. Greatest Fear:: Being cast out from the village. What does he/she want most?:: Garth doesn't actually know what they hell he wants out of life anymore. While not satisfied with his life, he's unwilling to make the steps to change it. What he needs is someone to let in because now that his mother is gone, there's no one close to him. It's not something he actually realizes nor would he admit. Major Goals::1. Keep his patrol as efficient as possible 2. Living up to his father's expectations 3. Live comfortably.

PART III. RELATIONSHIPS Significant Other/Relationship:: None Who does he/she live with?:: Lives on his own, with a house decorated in hides and various mounted game kills. Who does he/she spend the most time with?:: Again, he's mostly on his own. He will get together with other officers for reporting status on regular basis, but anyone else he comes back is sporadic. Sometimes he visits his father, but often avoids it. He goes farther into the village to barter with what he has made from his trade if he thinks he needs something. Father/Relationship with him/Rank/Current Status:: His father, Geneva, is a Sargtlin. Garth's relationship with him has always been strained, because Geneva is a hard-a** and has stayed on every move Garth has ever made as a youth. He chided his mate for coddling the boy, was always pushing his son to grow up and become an asset to their village. It was never that he didn't care for Garth, he just didn't know how else to raise him but try to forcibly make the boy a backbone. After his mother died, Garth sees very little of him. However, Geneva is still alive and works as a patrol in the north. Mother/Relationship with her/Rank/Current Status:: Azaelia was an Afya, and a being that Garth centered his life around while she was still alive. To her, Garth was a miracle of the tragedy she and her mate survived, as since he was her first and only child she doted on him strongly. Because she was weakened from sickness, Garth felt he must attend to her as regularly and as unobtrusively as he could. He took more than a century to grow from Ust because he was her little helper and he never wanted to be made to leave her. She passed away from her sickness when he was nearly two hundred years old, and it hit him very, very hard. His whole attitude changed, he put on the acceleration of his growth and spurted to Llar in a much shorter period than he had spent as an Ust alone. He threw himself into his work and submitted finally to what his father had tried to tell him all those years. She is still a delicate subject with him, but a lot of his softer values come from her. Extra, on his parent's history: Geneva was the bonded of a man who belonged to guard of an Italian noble, Azaelia to a maid. They were mated then, and when the uprising began he learned that she had become pregnant. Begging his bond on behalf of his children, Geneva was released from his responsibility and allowed to flee. They had to travel with Azaelia's bond for a while, because she wouldn't dare leave the girl without having a safe place to put her. After taking her to her far away family, the two Jivvins fled to whatever cover they could find. They thankfully came in contact with other survivors who knew the way to go, Jivvins who had suffered from earlier revolutions and had come to wait for any survivors from the new area and lead them to the gathering. The two helped shape the Wild village as best they could, but very soon after Azaelia laid her three beautiful eggs. Geneva worked on while she and some of the other females watched over her clutch. However, only one ever did hatch, something both parents attributed to the stress the Afya was put under in her struggles. The one that did hatch was a large, and very healthy boy, Garth. Before the village could see completion, Azaelia came down with a sickness that nearly killed her. Geneva had to do what he could to help her, to help raise Garth, and with the help of the other Wilds they pulled through. But Azaelia had been left weak from the sickness and never was the same. Two centuries later, the same sickness returned and claimed her life. Siblings/Ranks/Current Status:: He had two other siblings, none that ever actually hatched. So he is an only child. Best Friend/Rank/Current Status:: None Feelings toward animals:: Good eating. He likes animals fine generally, but has a particular distaste for squirrels. How does he/she view his/her family?:: While he can't bring himself to be any sort of sentimental to his father, Garth knows he would do anything his father needed of him, especially since the other is getting along in age. He would protect his father even if he wasn't wanted. How does he/she view his/her friends?:: Has none, but if he did he would value them as a part of himself. Like a true Sargtlin, he is selfless and would give up anything he had for his friends. How does his/her family view him/her?:: Geneva loves his son, and is proud of what he's shaped up to be. However, he does worry for him, because Garth's attitude has done a total 180 since Azaelia passed. However, he is awkward with saying anything to his son, after all those years of emotional callousness. He keeps an eye on Garth through his own connections, Garth being wholly unaware of it. Geneva feels he needs to keep an eye on him for the sake of his old mate. How does his/her friends view them?:: Amongst the patrols that he works and confers with, Garth would be seen as an intimidating presence. He is a Jivvin of little words and thorough work, which would put off a lot of those who are lax in their own duties. Backs get much straighter when he's around, and most don't even dare to make jokes. However, none can say that he isn't respectful or attentive when he is spoken to, no matter who they are. He's been approached for help by a brave few in private, and they would know that he's willing to give his professional advice without reprimand. Most would just see him as a hard-a**. Who is his/her hero?:: His mother, undoubtedly. And while he isn't totally in agreement with everything the Sargtlin has to say, he does look up to Lysius.

It makes me so happy to see so many applications heart
~ Did you mean Black ears and tail with Black Markings? Cause, from a colourist's point of view, that's just black XD ... I just wanted to know if maybe this was a typo.
~ His name means 'keeper or the garden' but he won't eat vegetables? And I think if you eat fish bones then you choke on them... they lodge sideways in your throat and get completely stuck that way....
~ It's not your fault that you don't know, because it hasn't made it into the Faq yet, but Jivvins don't hunt. They have domesticated animals (like deer and such). They also would never kill an animal for sport, especially seeing as to how each jivvin has an animal (Llar) form themselves.
~ Gullible, and suspicious are two complete opposite character traits... and for one character to have both seems odd to me. Later in the form you say he's mistrustful and that seems to tell me that it's 'gullible' that's out of place.
~ If he was born right after the attack on the Castle, and spent a long time as an Ust, then the village that he would remember would be the thriving and growing village that came right after all the fighting... I dunno if you could call them renegades really, since the setup was well run and the castle jivvins who left were all 'released'... cause if they weren't released then they died. That wouldn't actually change the way he views others, but rather make the feelings stronger since they would all have had to work together back then, regardless of ranks. I think his 'memory' of the village is all I oppose here XD
~ He thinks that everyone is out to get something from him... but he will willingly give to anyone who doesn't ask him for things.... I can't say that it's wrong... but I can say that it confuses me. I'd like to see some backstory that prompts each response, the suspiscion and the giving.
~ Hunting shows up again in his talents and 'normal day'... again heart no hunting.
~ XD He sprints through the rain, and then sits in front of the fire until he's warm and dry, and then he goes out into the rain for a run? Why does he get dry inbetween?
~ I don't think there's a precedent of Jivvin's getting cast out from the village. That means that it's an irrational fear, and needs to be explained. ~ 'a spotless record of efficiency', and while this is fine, it means that you're proposing that he's never made even one mistake since the foundation of the village hundreds and hundreds of years ago.
~ Knowing Lysius quite well, I'd say that he and Garth have had a lot of the same values in the past even if they're not an exact match now. They might get alone better than you think. heart
And so, to me it looks like you have a good Sargtlin here, but you've also got a lot of specific info in here that I can't help you on XD ... Hopefully some of the things I've said will help you make small amendments until Moo has time to look over your village info heart All in all, looking good. ^_^

I'm going to go through this in more detail when I have time, I just want to clear up this question for the both of you so you can take what Kep says to heart <3 Bloody Anubis I'm sorry, I just needed a clarification and I thought it was better if I PM'd you.
Jivvins don't hunt? I'm confused. Your reasoning is that they have an animal form. Well, animals eat other animals to survive. Wolves, for example, hunt for sport as much as they do for need. A lot of other animals do too. I'm sorry if I was confused, it was just when I asked for a comparison to other animals, Moofuls gave me wolves and tigers, both predators that hunt and kill. And for a village that has thousands to feed, small packs of domesticated deer is going to do the trick? DO they eat the deer? Like I said, I'm a little confused, I'd just like to know more before I start tweaking my concept.
What do Jivvins normally eat? Or Wilds, anyway. What other domesticated animals, if any, do they raise? Do they raise them for food?
Thanks for your time, hope it was ok I sent you the PM! You both have it wrong....and right xD And I'm sorry for the confusion, first off, Bloody, because when you asked me that, I thought you meant physical movements and base instinctual level. The difference here is that Jivvins don't function on instinct any more than humans do, and they've established a formal, self-sustaining society to avoid living like animals. If all of the Wilds had to go out and hunt for themselves, the forest would very quickly run out of deer and other game. More appropriately, the Wilds raise livestock just as we do, but rather than cows and chickens, you could expect deer and ducks. They raise animals that they can blend in to the wilderness, but they raise them in disguised paddocks and farms nonetheless. Jivvins do, however, hunt for sport, just as humans hunt for sport. It wouldn't be a frequent occurrence, I'm sure, but it would not be unheard of, especially among Sargtlins. (Other ranks might not agree.) So, to summarize, he would need a job that wasn't 'Hunter', but he could still hunt for fun on occasion, maybe make a day of it with some other Sargtlins. Savvy? Work with that, and I'll have more notes for you when I have time <3

Okay, I think I've tweaked everything I'm going to, and to things I didn't, I'll clarify in kind.
-I meant black on black, yes. You know how black panthers are melanistic(sp?) ? Though they look solid black, they still have a dark spot pattern on them. This is the same. If the artist prefers, it could be called a lighter black for the base, a darker black for the markings.
-I don't know if this was just an amused statement or a concern, but it's not like his parents KNEW when they named him that he was going have a hard time taking his veggies. Besides, a little irony is good. Also, I mentioned that his eating was disgusting, that can definitely include him hacking up a fish bone. Animals usually eat fish whole, don't bother to debone them, would he really have that hard a time? And sometimes when humans eat them the bones thing still happens on occasion some are left out and they've survived. I imagine he crunches right through the bone, maybe eats around it occasionally but sometimes he's just too impatient. I guess once he has to slam himself into everything to be able to choke free the fish bone one time too many, he'll start being more careful rofl If it's really a problem, I'll change it, but he's retarded that way.
-Garth is a selfless kind of guy, really, but he doesn't like the thought of being used is what it is. A lot of this is attributed to what his father has pounded him about more than experience. Give to those who need, not those who ask for it. Garth's soft-hearted even if he puts up the callous front, he can't stand to see anyone in need. When he was small, he liked to do anything for anyone to get friends and when his father saw it he got reprimanded really hard. Say his mother gave him money to go out and get something from the store- well, if he met a friend along the way who wanted to go get a treat, that's where he went instead. Or maybe he was waiting to pay for what he needed and another customer came up short by him, he'd give off his money. So basically, it was kind of a problem, and he wasn't getting anything in return usually. He'd have gone without lunch or something because his 'friends' wanted him to go galavanting elsewhere or convinced him to give up his money or food. Geneva basically shamed the boy into thinking everyone was looking out for themselves, and that he needed to be a little more selfish and a lot less gullible/acomodating if he wanted to survive. Does that make sense? So Garth is kind of a sour boy now. I didn't know how or where to write it, so maybe you can help me? It's not that he would never give to someone that asked him for it, he just considers it rude and he likely wouldn't unless he really believed they needed and/or they are a cute little child. He believes kids are innocent, he'd give them about anything.
-I don't know if you're familiar with endurance/extreme training, but this sort of thing is done in short bursts. If he runs in rain, he's risking getting pneumonia by running his immune system down. So he would run, come back to regulate his temperature again to assure he doesn't get sick, then goes again on a much more planned run. He'd dry off again afterward, it's all about not putting on too much stress while still pushing the body.
-Irrational fear. Well, in my defense, some people have a fear of spiders, which one could call completely irrational being that they're smaller than a person and could be easily eradicated. I don't think the fear is completely irrational, seeing as Jivvins have been exiled, or have been threatened exile before, but even if it was the fear still exists. Just like one could fear that a black hole would open suddenly beneath their feet and they'd fall in a bottomless pit forever. Garth hasn't done anything to warrant him being kicked out of the village, he follows the rules to a tee, but it's something that would scare him to death and he'd never want it. After his mother passed away, the noted fear would be next in line. If you're sure, I'll change it, but maybe you could be a little more specific on how I'm supposed to explain the fear?

I like him, Bloody. My one nitpick would be that you haven't spoken on how his friends view him, but you've also made it very clear that, aside from his patrolling, he's a fairly antisocial character, so it's not crucial. I do want to point out, however, that you need not name specific names here--it's more a general idea, maybe referring to how the Sargtlins on patrol with him view him?
Other than that, it looks good, and I'm not going to hold off for something so minor.
Approved!
