Quantum-Crystalline Armor Quantum-Crystalline Armor, also known as layered molecular armor and more informally known as quantum armor was designed to withstand incredible forces. It was made possible by stacking a few layers of atoms as densely as the laws of physics could permit, which were laminated above another thin film that was as strong, but phase shifted.
Quantum-Crystalline Armor was designed by Galactic Federation scientists after intense studying of Ancient and Shadow technology. It was first tested on the FSV Normandy, a test vessel of no designed class. After sustaining more damage that the previous armor could, Quantum-Crystalline Armor was pushed into full usage. All Warship Modernization Program warships were required to be equipped with the QCA.

Shifting Phased Plasma Shielding The Shifting Phased Plasma Shield is the pinnacle of Galactic Federation shielding technology, having been under research for nearly sixty years. Since the innovation of using plasma as shielding, a phased plasma shield was the desire of many officials in the military. The idea was nearly perfected under the Confederacy Empire, but leading scientists defected to the Restoration Alliance, and provided the remaining technology to the newly formed Galactic Federation. Under a new grant, Galactic Federation scientists finished the technology. The Shifting Phased Plasma Shield was tested aboard the FSV Normandy. The shifting ability of the shield allowed for sections of the shield to be moved to reinforce other areas. The phased plasma absorbed a greater deal of energy weapons than previous models. The new plasma shielding is standard aboard all Warship Modernization Program warships.

Particle Shielding Particle shielding has been in effect in naval usage for over seven thousand years, and is used to deflect solid particles away from or destroy space ships. The ions used in the shielding are tightly focused, allowing more particles to be reflected. Solid particles ranging from large asteroids to minuscule atoms are blocked by the shielding. Most particle shields are powerful enough to even repel fighter craft and small warships.
Particle Shields were developed early in the Unification Wars to repel missiles and other forms of solid weaponry. The shielding technology was expanded to allow warships to enter asteroid fields to pursue fleeing ships. Soon, particle shields were modified to repel suicide attacks by small fighter craft and later the smaller warships. New particle shielding was designed for the Warship Modernization Program, and tested aboard the flagship project FSV Normandy.

Electro-Pulse Shielding Electro-Pulse Shielding, or electromagnetic pulse shield, was designed to repel attacks from ion cannons. Acting on the same wave pulse as the blasts from an ion cannon, the energy in the shielding separates the ionic pulse and spreads it across the shielding, nullifying the attack. The electromagnetic-pulse shielding became necessary during the Unification Wars when the use of ion cannons became popular. The designs surrounding the electro-pulse shield has changed as ion cannons changed. With new age shielding, only one ion blast is required before artificial intelligence calibrates the shield to repel further attacks. All Warship Modernization Program have the most advanced electro-pulse shield generators.

Cloaking Generator The stable technology of the Galactic Federation, and the Confederacy Empire before it, is the cloaking generator, providing warships with the ability to disappear from sight and sensors. As like many other military technologies, the cloaking generator was designed during the Unification Wars. In order to provide the Confederacy with the advantage, Confederate scientists studying a rare species of space creatures with the ability to disappear from sight. Being light away from the ship, the cloaking generator erases the ship from sight and other moderators remove heat and electronic signatures from the ship. Along with other technologies, the cloaking generators make ships almost completely impossible to locate.

Turbolaser Battery The Turbolaser Battery, often referred to as the turbolaser, is an energy weapon that heats gas, which passes through a coil that propels it out of the barrel. Once it enters space, the laser blast will speed through space until it impacts a target or the gas cools enough that the particles slow. Turbolaser Batteries are mounted on rotating platforms that permit the turrets to fire in many directions. This technology emerged from the early Unification Wars when particle weaponry was determined to be ineffective. Under the Galactic Federation, turbolaser batteries were improved greatly, reducing the necessary power requirements and improving output.

Heavy Turbolaser Battery The Heavy Turbolaser Battery is a more advanced version of the Turbolaser Battery, modified to provide a longer range and higher damage output than its contemporary. The batteries themselves are larger, to provide for the larger reactor in order to convert the right amount of power. The barrels are longer, which increases the range of the turret as well. The necessity for Heavy Turbolaser Batteries arose from the later Unification Wars, when more heavily armed warships were the norm. The damage output created from the wars were nearly doubled by the time of the Galactic Federation.

Ion Cannon Battery The Ion Cannon Battery is a weapon that fires highly ionized plasma, giving it the name ion cannon. The ionized plasma impact is meant to overload and shut down electronic systems, such as those of warships and ground equipment. The necessity for ion cannons arose out of the end of the Unification Wars when technological warships became the norm. As the eras progressed, ion cannons became more powerful, more durable, and less of a drain on power systems.

Photon Missile The Photon Missile is an ordinance with an anti-matter warhead in the missile, fired from a tube using a sub-light propulsion system. The photon missile is one of the more deadly weapons in the armament of the Federation vessel. Each missile tube is equipped with one hundred missiles, and each hits with the explosive force of a mini nuclear weapon. Photon Missiles replaced the solid projectile missiles during the Rim War, where the Confederacy Empire expanded into what is known as the Mid and Outer Rims of the galaxy.

Point-defense Laser Cannon The Point-defense Laser Cannon is an Artificial Intelligence-controlled light laser cannon meant to defend rather than attack. The Point-defense Laser Cannon is super effective against fighters, missiles and small objects that penetrate the shields. The Point-defense Laser Cannon was invented during the Human War between the humans from Earth and the humans from Dojouro.
