ORP for anyone who owns a Phoenix/Edgey related fuzzbucket (and they're free to drag in whoever else they might like who knows these buggers X3). >=3 Have really been meaning to get this going!

Phoenix had been rather quiet and contemplative of things as of late. With all the recent occurings and mayhem, he was still trying to get his head around things. Just how had he gotten to this point, anyway? He curled his tails around himself, firey orange wings loosely at his sides. He rolled onto his belly and rested his head on his paws, icy blue eyes examining the ceiling of his room, and then at the bundle of eggs next to his bed, bundled up in a mess of blankets and laundry which he had used to hide the evidence, so to speak. A gentle smile crossed his face as he closed his eyes. The eggs were covered up and warm, so he wasn't too worried about them getting cold right now. He began to ponder how it had began...
His attempts to talk to Miles in the past had always ended in failure. He'd had none of his friends around to ask questions or even talk to, and so it had made him unhappy and disheartened. Hell, there hadn't been anyone to talk to, and Phoenix certainly wasn't the type to go up to some random stranger and speak his mind. No, not about something complicated such as this.
"It's a disaster, really." He thought to himself. "One big strange predicament, and a total disaster."
It was his fault, too. There had been ample opportunity. He even lived under the same roof as the other guy for heavensakes. Even after all the attempts, all the opportunities he had been given to bug Edgeworth about his feelings, it had always ended with him changing the subject or averting the topic to something else because it had been easier for him to do than to attempt to tackle the situation head-on.
"He still doesn't know, either. I don't think I helped the situation, either. Just complicated things further, probably... sneaky. Maya rubbed off on me too much, I think." Phoenix opened an eye, taking another glance at the eggs. Did one just move? They had been doing that a lot in recent days.
Eggs. Now they complicated the issue even more. And he had gone about it rather underhandedly, also. So much so that he was kind of ashamed of himself and secretly wondered how Edgeworth would react.
"Probably not good..." He mumbled. "Then again, Edgeworth doesn't really react well to anything, sometimes." Phoenix shook his head. Edgeworth had a right to be pissed about this situation, and it was only a matter of time before the truth would be out. When Miles had been asleep, Phoenix had stolen hairs from his tail. And through the strange processes that Kitsusagi had available, he had added his own hair, found a surrogate mother.... and now there was six eggs. He really hadn't expected six. Despite that all however, he wasn't sorry for their existance. He was proud. He was only afraid of Miles' reaction when he found out. Edgeworth would probably explode, or have a heart attack, he guessed. Either way, there would probably be some yelling.
"Six, one, it doesn't matter." Phoenix said to himself, mumbling. "No matter how you look at it, it..." He trailed off. Something was moving in the pile of blankets beside him. Then he heard the distinct sound of a crack.
"Oh boy."

It was certainly such a disaster, one Ayako hadn't exactly wrapped her mind around soundly yet. The appearance of the eggs were rather sudden and it was still not known where they came from, exactly. Xanul's reaction to it had been rather silly; he had immediately demanded to know where the eggs come from, and gone off on some story that they had been kidnapped from their parents. Honestly, Ayako thought, her son should get out more, like he did in his young days. Staying at home too often made him have such strange thoughts.
She padded to where they were, peeking at the apparent father and the eggs. Ayako often went to check on them to see how they were doing. The cracking sound and Phoenix's gasp didn't escape her ears and she made her way in, smiling at Phoenix. "Well, it looks like they're about to hatch."
One egg in particular however was unusually still. It was as if the kit in it did not want to break free from the shell and emerge. It was dark and nice in there, it thought. Maybe if it didn't move, it could stay in there.
Maybe.

Darn right there was a crack.
For too long, she'd been curled up and compressed in this dark, too-small space with nowhere to go. She'd been smothered and squeaked her dismay, but there'd never been any answering call or even a bit of reassurance. Tough love, huh? Fine. She'd fix this herself! And so, the creamy colored egg was rocking voraciously, little paws stretching to their fullest before the egg would grow eerily silent once the kit had exhausted itself. One more ferocious attempt had finally split the top of the shell open, letting blanket-obscured light slowly seep in.
The kit found herself too tired to continue and mewled, trying to attract some attention finally now that the space was out of the way. She wanted out! ...But she was too tired to manage to get the rest of this stuff away from her! So, the plaintive cries went on, soft as they were, in hopes that someone nearby would be able to fish her out from this prison!

For once, Kitsumi actually seemed...anxious. Circling the eggs like a hawk, her gaze darted from Phoenix, to the eggs, and then back. She had originally been pretty darn confused by the appearance of the eggs - heck, she was STILL confused. Where had they come from? Why was Nick so nervous looking?
Her ears flattened against her skull. All that she knew was that Edgey was going to be ticked off, for one reason or another. She wasn't looking forward to witnessing this.
He couldn't quite put his finger on it. Something was bothering him - there was a heavy nagging feeling that kept weighing him down. Unfortunately, he wasn't really sure what caused it. All he knew was that his stomach was tight with discomfort.
Edgeworth had woken up early that day and, with not much else to do, had gone out to take a walk. Now, however, he was eager to get home. He had been convinced that the feeling was a sign - something must have happened to his family, or friends. He was never wrong when it came to his instincts so, with this in mind, it was on swift feet that he headed home.
"God, please be okay."
---
It didn't take long before he reached the house and, without warning, barged in. "Kitsumi! Wright!" Looking concerned and rather ruffled, he stormed in. When he noticed no one was in the living room, or any of the other rooms he had thought of first, his alarm only escalated.
"Damnit, where are yo - " The male cut himself off suddenly as he barged into Phoenix's room, taking in the sight of Phoenix, Ayako and Kitsumi. Completely fine.
Oh.
He flushed, seeming rather flustered to find that both of them were alright, and that his instinct seemed to be wrong this time around. He began to let out a sigh of relief when a soft mewl caught his attention. He froze, and then narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
"What was that?"
He wanted out. Now.
The egg hadn't been too bad at first but, with him growing bigger, it had become progressively more cramped. Urged on by the sound of one of his siblings struggling, his egg began to sway from side to side as he wriggled inside, attempting to burst from the egg.
The swaying stopped when his sibling began to cry out. Changing his objective, his egg began to rock more viciously, knocking against the shells of the others in attempt to knock them all free of their shells.
