Hello I am new to the entire Buddhism thing, and read through the intro and what not, and was looking for someone to help me with getting a little more into it. I have seen a few views in the zen point of view and it looked like it made alot of sense, and what not. I also don't know much about the others though. Well I hope someone can get back to me soon.

Getting a little more into it, eh? Well, I have a question. Do you know for a fact that you really want to devote yourself 100% to the paths towards enlightenment?
If that's a yes, Then do I have some help for you! One way I found to help myself dive headfirst into the studies is nature. Go outside, or go to a park, and sit under or maybe in a tree. I've found that being thrust into nature's blossom gives me initiative and/or inspiration to study, sketch, and meditate. Just the surroundings of nature starts such an immense fire inside me, that I feel at home & at peace with myself. It's a really good jumpstart for begginners. Well, I hope that you continue with your studies and I hope that I helped a bit!

We could honestly give you annals upon tomes upon volumes of information on every Tradition, and every lineage.

Ananda wrote down almost every text that we have that is from the Buddha, from memory, following his death. That in and of itself amounts to hours upon hours of reading.

What, specifically, would you like to know? A general landscape of Buddhism can be found in the Dhammapada (there are very many good versions out there) and a more concise, general Buddhist resource would be the Buddhist Bible. I would suggest starting there.
