Of course we missed you! heart What have you been busy doing while away from us?
Today I pruned my nectarine tree. I made it about 15 feet shorter!!! Now it stands about 7 or 8 feet tall (kind of the size of a Christmas tree). I tuckered!!! Going to sleep early tonight.

Hey! No Guilt!!! (And I direct this to goddess_Sketma and any Old Farts that might be lurking the guild and haven't posted a message in a while . . . AND to all the Old Farts who do post messages but they feel like their messages could be more scintillating!!!)
No Guilt about being afk for however long at a time you need! Don't you know that if you feel guilty, you will stop liking us?!? No one likes to feel badly, so it is human nature to stop liking the cause of feeling badly. And we are much too fun to stop liking!!!
We are happy to see you again, goddess_Sketma!!! & what Mule said, what has kept you busy? (if you feel comfortable answering, of course!)
biggrin
Happy Friday Everyone!!!

I missed you, Sketma. sad Don't feel bad about it, everyone has a life outside of Gaia, and sometimes that means taking a Gaia break for a while. Heavens know I've had to do that several times myself. sweatdrop
Glad you're back, and hope you're back to stay for a while? How have you been?

Wow!!! Congrats on finishing up your degree. What's your major? Will you walk during ceremonies? In May 2009? Grades "irl" have to trump playing w/ Old Farts. But we are glad to provide comic relief as needed! biggrin
Hurray for Saturdays!

Yes, Eirwyn comes to Gaia far less these days, and lets Whatsit and I out to come here rarely, because of all her Graphic Design classes. Her Graphic Design II class is making a logo & designing a business card for a real non-profit organization right now. She has her logo and has to work it into a business card now. The client comes to view the designs on the 13th of march.

Ooh, good luck to Eirwyn with that design class. Is it like a contest where the designer for the card that gets chosen wins something? Or is it just the satisfaction of a job well done? wink

Yeah?!? I remember really enjoying being able to help a real company while at school. I helped Chico Nut Company (which produces almonds). I was astonished to learn that they are much less automated than I imagined.
Does Eirwyn like her non-profit? Or is it a wacky (like one of my clients who wants to build Noah's Ark as a museum)?

Yes, this is an excellent organization with many good ideas for making our county a self-sustaining community. They emphasize making use of all our HUMAN resources. One of their first programs is helping people coming out of prison to find jobs and become part of society again, and they wish to open a bakery which can give jobs to such people and sell bread and other baked goods in the community. They also speak of collecting waste grease in the area, making biofuel from it, and using it in the school buses. 3nodding
And it IS a sort of competition, in that the students all make their own designs and the client will choose one to use. That person will have that in their portfolio, of course, but all of the students involved will be able to say they worked on a project for a real client.
