Make a numbered list of random mundane objects in the original post of the competition. Each person who enters generates a random number between all the numbers on the list. The contestant must then write a poem about the object they were given. Also could have contestants able to regenerate a number a few times or you could make them stick with the first one they get.

To add to that even, suppose they had to write a poem from the perspective of said object. Those are always fun to read and come up with we.

And for my own contribution, what about writing poems that describe emotions using metaphors and personification. It's hard to explain, but the idea kinda just came to me... for example:

Love is an angel.
Uplifting and spiritual,
It hymns pluck the strings of your heart.

Love is a demon.
Chaotic and hard,
Battling struggle to tear you apart.

etc. etc.

And then from there we set a minimum amount and maximum amount of lines, and may the best writer win.

That was a really good Idea, I know I am new. So I know I really have no business butting in but, I do have an idea.

Set a topic, for Example: Pets

1.) Each contestant or member, gets 5 lines to come up with a opening part of the poem.
2.) Whom ever it would fall upon, would choose the opening line. Then each line after would be made by members to create a poem for the guild that might be able to put up for all to read.
3.) The person who opening lines would have won, would win a small amount of gold, in hopes they might return to try again.

Again I am truly sorry if I may have stepped upon some toes, but any idea is an idea.
