*Chuckles again and returns to her book, reading at the same time as they converse* I'd like to have a word with Alastor myself, knock some sense into him, actually. He's lost his damn mind.

He's just stressed out, I think... Getting a talk about retiring again, then that attack that put Teddy in Saint Mungo's...now Mulciber just shows up out of the blue and Mari helps Healer Granger without even reporting to anyone, wasn't even on duty, to get him away before Mad-Eye can process him.. It's just..
He's just trying to stay a float, I think. *Frowns, thoughtful as she watches the fireplace for a moment*

*Snorts, turning a page* That old b*****d knows better than to put his feelings ahead of public safety. His first wife would have forced him to retire years ago. *Turns another page* It's too much for him. Too much has changed.

Reckon, when it comes down to major things he hasn't much say, anyway..
I just hope nothing bad happens to the point they will need us back. There were only three field healers in the first place.
I didn't know he had a wife before Dora.

Oh, yes. Maria Anazette. I taught them both, though she was a fair bit younger than him. *Pauses, her expression distant and grim as she stares unreadingly at her book* They had a child. Lived in a little cottage outside of Godrics Hollow... Dark wizards slaughtered them both while Alastor was away. *Jerks her shoulders as if to brush away the thought* Says a lot about the man that he didn't lose his mind then.
But it's really time he put his vendettas aside and relax through the rest of his years. Lord knows Dora could use a break from housewifing. *Chuckles*

Yeah, reckon so. I couldn't imagine juggling a house and Maria at the same time. She's a right firecracker, that little girl.
Maybe he'll figure it out and get some rest. Last time I saw him he looked right awful. I might give him a call later, now that I'm not blubbering in panic.

*Closes her book, laying it neatly on her lap* Maybe we both ought to pay him a visit.

I bet he'll be in his office all day, or do you think we should wait for another day?

*Chuckles* I imagine he won't be terribly happy seeing someone he had the audacity to sack show up in his office.
Today.

*Looks genuinely startled* Me? Married? I can't even keep a date interested, let alone hook some poor soul into sticking with me until all eternity. *Rubs the back of her neck, laughing and look pretty damn adorable*

Well, you're not alone in that, are you? *Chuckles, standing up from her chair and placing a scrap of paper between the pages of her book to save her place*
