So, I wanna know if it would be in bad taste to compare abortion to self defense. I'm not sure if it would be... Take, say, a drunk or mentally ill person attacking you. They don't mean to do it, and do not know what they are doing, but just because they don't mean to do it doesn't mean you shouldn't have the right to defend yourself. Now, with a pregnancy, the fetus doesn't know what it's doing to the woman's body and it didn't make the decision to do it, but it is hurting the woman and she should be able to defend herself from it if she wanted.
Would it be in bad taste to compare the two?

Lifers never really take the comparison for what it is. I find it funny that they say the fetus can think or feel, but as soon as this comparison came up, they would crow that the fetus couldn't help it, that it didn't ask to be there, that it's innocent.
So in a pro-lifer's viewpoint, it seems that if a fetus is in a normal, unthreatened pregnancy, it can think and feel, consciously move its limbs and suck its thumb and carve memoirs into a woman's uterus (xD), but as soon as the woman doesn't want to be pregnant, it's this innocent thing that can't do anything that's just sitting there and merely growing as it was designed to do.
Uhuh..right.
"why should the baby be punished for its parents actions?!" they crow "why should the woman be punished for birth control failing?! " we crow back "she's the slut that opened her legs in the first place!!" they scream "and how the ******** can you 'punish' a fetus that can't think or feel, anyway?? Only the woman suffers!" we scream back
And it just goes on and on and on...

It's only in "bad taste" insofar as the other side doesn't like it. It doesn't show compassion for fetuses!

If it did, the woman's pregnancy would be very noticable in the first month.

Ten minutes later I grow the ability to write you sonnets!" ...I'm going to hell for posts like this. O_O
