Name: Magnus Reed
Age: 18
Job: College Student
Favorite Food: Soup
Least Favorite Food: Onions
Favorite song: "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler
Location: Barton Town, Gaia

Mag is an optimistic young woman who has just moved to Gaia in order to attend college. Being in a new and strange place, she is nervous and excited. She misses her family and friends, and can get lonely, but discovering new and fun things can help that go away.
Mag has always been a big admirer of music. Probably because of the fact that she can't carry a tune in voice or instrument, she has found herself attracted to vocalists, musicians, and other musical paraphanalia. This has also lead to a childhood fascination with windchimes, leading to her purchase of Pax. Another attributing factor to her fascination is her appreciation for beauty, Mag being an art major in her college.
Mag also enjoys reading books, especially fantasy and science fiction books, playing video games, and taking long walks outside. She thinks that she may use her artistic talent to become a graphic designer. She also likes animals and other cute things.

Well, Mag does have a soft spot for animals...

{__About Pax__}

Hello, there, name's Pax. Now, I'm sure that you're all dying to know about me, right? Of course, or else you wouldn't be here.

Well, I was first drawn in here by the wonderful energy of a windchime Mag had purchased. I must admit, I was suprised that a college student had such good taste, to buy something of that calibur. Of course, if she had known I'd come with it, I'm sure she would have been even more eager to make her purchase.

Either way, upon my grand entrance into the house, I immediately charmed Mag with my delightful demeanor, and established myself here. I'm sure that we shall coexist in the most wonderful and peaceful of ways.

...

What on earth are those fuzzy things she's bringing in...!!??

...

We visited the shop for Halloween, and that nice Ealasaid gave us another, smaller windchime. I wonder if I'll be having company soon. If someone shows up, I hope they appreciate me for the wonderful person I am.

{__Friends and Foes__}

Hi! Magnus here! As you know, I'm pretty new to Barton Town, just having moved in to attend college! Here's a list of all the people I run into here. I hope they're good people, but I'm sure I'll probably meet a few unsavory characters too. (Had quite a few in my high school, that's for sure. blaugh )

Ealasaid-- I met her in the shop when I went Trick or Treating on Halloween. She seems really nice, I hope Pax and I get to talk with her more!

{__Homecoming__}

Magnus, upon arriving to Gaia, rented out an apartment.

The apartment is of a fairly large size, more than enough to accomodate the teenager. It has a total of four main rooms.
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Bedroom: Has a fairly large closet, enough to house both Mag's winter and summer clothes. The room itself is large enough to hold a king size bed and a dresser/vanity, both of which Mag brought from home. The walls are painted a dark purple color, with tiny stars near the top. Mag's comforter on the bed matches the walls with an image of the night sky.

Kitchen: The kitchen is the biggest room in the house. The table in here has four chairs, ready for company. Cabinets line the walls and the areas under the counters. It has all the neccessities, including refridgerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher and oven.

Den: One of the coziest rooms in the house. Has a very plushy armchair and a loveseat, both facing a medium sized television. Hooked up to the television are a Playstation 2 and a Gamecube, both for Mag's playing enjoyment. She also has a DVD/VCR player and cable. On the walls are several paintings by Magnus herself, which she thought would cheer up the room. The den also leads out onto a large balcony, where Mag loves to stand and stargaze. Another point of interest is right next to the balcony entrance, where Pax hangs on an iron hook.

Bathroom: It's a bathroom with a tub, shower, sink and toilet. xd

"Well all I can say is that I'm glad the movers finally got all my stuff here! Sleeping on the floor is alright for a while, but I was getting kinda sore. Bored too!" Magnus pouts, offput. "I should have words with them!"

{__In the beginning__}

How Magnus got her chime....

Quote:
Magnus shifted uncomfortably as the handles of the two plastic bags she was carrying cut into the crook of her right arm. Granted, she could carry one in each hand, but that would mean that she would have to find another carrying place for her other purchase.

Mag smiled contentedly as she pressed the brown paper package to her chest. She knew that the wind chime she purchased certainly would cheer up her dull apartment. The newly graduated high school student had just moved into Gaia to attend college, and her living quarters were still barren, almost prison-like. The walls were bereft of the cozy pictures she had come to love in her home, and the floors were bare and cold. Her furniture had not even arrived, due to a mix up with the shipping company. At least this would bring a little light to her spartan existence.

She still couldn't believe her luck in finding the store. Since she had first arrived, Mag had barely ventured out the surroundings of her new apartment, a little shy of the strange places and even stranger people. Still, the day had been so nice, with the sun shining after a week of rain, and a gently breeze ruffling her hair. It had been only natural to wish to go outside and explore, after she had finished getting the bare necessities at the grocery store. She hadn't expected to really find anything when she had left the walls of Barton Town, and was pleasantly surprised to find the quaint little shop sitting there. The salesperson was very helpful and kind, and Mag found herself delighted with the color and the melody of the chimes. She always had loved wind chimes as a child, playing with them in the stores until a parent or adult yelled at her for making too much noise.

Sighing happily, Mag made her way up the walkway of her apartment building. She climbed three sets of stairs to reach her floor, and, panting with the exertion, pulled her key out of the pocket of her coat. She unlocked the door to her rooms (third on the left), and went inside. She tossed the two plastic bags onto the kitchen counter, not really worried about their contents, none of it needing to be refrigerated. She shucked off her coat, throwing it on the floor as she skipped into the den, whistling a merry tune. She sat down on the cardboard box she had been using as an impromptu chair, and, quivering with anticipation, ripped open the wrapping on her parcel.

The wind chime sat in the shreds of paper, glistening prettily in the sun pouring through Mag's den window. Mag ran a finger down the metal of each separate chime, giggling at the cool feeling. She gently flicked one of the chimes with her nail, making sort of a plink sound, then grinned at herself for her silliness.

Holding the chime by the top, Mag got to her feet, smile growing even more when the chimes rang out as their ends fell from her support. She already knew where she was going to hang them, had decided as soon as she had bought them. A small hook had been placed next to the doors of the balcony by the previous apartment owner, probably for a picture or as a coat hanger. Mag didn't have any pictures yet, and hung her coat in the closet, so this was the perfect place to put her precious chime.

She looped the end of the chime over the hook, congratulating herself on finding such a good spot. She stepped back for a moment to admire her handiwork, then went into the kitchen to put away her groceries in the cupboards. Humming to herself, Mag poured a bowl of cereal, then returned to the den with her meal. She walked over to the balcony and flicked the chimes one more time, causing them to play their beautiful music once more. Satisfied, Mag sat down on the box once more, eating her supper as the echoes died away.

{__A Few Days Later__}

Quote:
Mag winced at the first crash as a moving man dropped one of the crates. Thanking her lucky stars that she wasn't transporting anything fragile, she walked into the den to sit on an armchair that they had already brought in. Naturally, she had asked earlier if she could help, but they had refused her offer, saying that 'such a young slip of a thing' couldn't possibly do more than get in the way.

"Yeah," she thought, laughing to herself, "and who's the 'young slip of a thing' that's going to be arranging all this furniture after you guys leave? You wouldn't know stylish furniture arrangement if it fell from the sky and whacked you in the forehead." Well, it wasn't really their job to decorate her apartment anyway, so she wouldn't complain all that much. She was really just thankful that her furniture was actually there, after two weeks of sleeping on the floor.

A movement near the open porch doors caught her eye, and a gently chiming noise soon followed. Mag giggled, then walked over to the windchime, taking it off it's hook.

"Wouldn't want one of the movers to be swinging a box around and hit you, would we?"

She sat back down, gently cradling the chime in her lap. She could almost forget about all the chaos and the mayhem in her apartment, thinking about the beautiful melodies it had provided her with since she had bought it. As the moving men hastened in and out of her rooms, carrying all her odds and ends, she found herself daydreaming of all the momentous occasions this little chime would witness, simply by hanging in her apartment.

"God!" Mag said, teasing herself, "Sooner or later you'll end up giving the thing a name and inviting it to family dinners!" But, she had to admit that she felt an attatchment to the chime and a warmth when she heard it play. She slowly stood up and turned, placing the chime on the soft cushion of the chair for safe keeping. Then, she went into the hallway of her apartment, hoping to aleiviate whatever aesthetic damage the movers were doing.

Hours later, once everything was in place, Mag returned to the den, exhausted but satisfied. She almost sat down in her armchair, when a glint of metal grabbed her attention. Mag smiled and scooped up her windchime, moving once again across the room to hang it once more. It's music rang out gaily once it fell from her hand, making the atmosphere merry.

"Y'know, I think I will give you a name. We're all alone here together, not knowing anyone yet, so it won't do for me to be calling you 'you' all the time, neh?" The chime rustled in the breeze from the still open door, almost like a response. Mag grinned and clapped her hands together.

"I think I'll call you Pax. Do you like that?" The chime rang out again, thrilling the already excited Mag even more. Even if it was an inanimate object, at least she didn't have to feel alone in this empty place.

Smiling and nodding to herself, Mag turned back to her chair, pulling a book off a newly placed table. With her heart was filled with joy from the music, and her belongings in place, this new apartment and this new life finally felt like home.

{__Pax's Arrival__}

Magnus shut the door of her apartment with a gentle click, sighing with relief. After a long wait since noon, when her last name was called for class signups, she had finally managed to get the classes she had wanted. She had gotten into both the pottery and basic drawing classes, as well as a good english class later in the afternoon. She, of course, had the other boring classes, such as math and science, but she didn't really care about that area of learning.

Stretching languidly as she entered the kitchen, she glanced out of the corner of her eye at the clock. In total, the signups had taken two hours, a fairly small amount of time considering the number of students on campus. At least the office hadn't been cramped, as a result of the adjacent waiting room. The armchairs in there were actually pretty comfortable, for being school property.

Dropping her rather large purse on the kitchen table, Mag walked into the den, still working the kinks out of her body. Despite the fact that the chairs were plush, sitting for almost two hours would make anyone stiff. The walk home had helped, but her neck still felt like somebody had stuffed polyester filling in it.

She shivered as a sudden cool breeze caressed her body. Summer was just beginning to come to a close, and the cooler autumn weather was sneaking up on everybody. Then, realizing where the wind had come from, she groaned.

"Awww..." Magnus drawled, smacking the palm of her hand to her head, "I left the damn balcony door open!"

Magnus had been out on the balcony earlier that moment, eating her breakfast. She truly did enjoy being outside, and was trying to get out as much as she could before the cold weather set in, driving her inside. Still, it wasn't really suprising that she had forgotten to shut the door. She was always being distracted by something, forgetting little important things, like names or times. Shaking her head as if to playfully chastise herself, she walked briskly across the room and slid the door shut.

"Y'know, somebody's gonna end up sneaking in here and robbing you blind if ya pull something like that again."

To say that Magnus was startled would be an understatement. She jumped several inches into the air, before spinning around. Her eyes darted around the room, seeking out the source of the voice. Seeing nothing, she began to panic.

"You really are dense aren't you?" The voice continued, sounding from around Mag's left ear. Mag's head whipped to the left.

Her eyes widened at the sight. Whatever it was, it definitely wasn't human. Besides considering the fact that it was only a few inches tall, it definitely had some interesting characteristics. Most of its body seemed to fade away beyond the waist, swirling out into a smoke-like substance. Its body was a beautiful gold/silver color, shimmering gently. Mag found herself mesmerized.

"Who...what are you?" Mag stuttered, not really knowing what to say. Anyone in her situation would be somewhat confused, finding something like this waiting for them when they came home.

Pax felt a slight swell of pride inside him. He had obviously made a good first impression, the human was definitely awestruck. Of course, with someone as wonderful as him, who wouldn't be?

Chuckling to himself, he bowed slightly to Mag.

"The name's Pax, milady. And I am the spirit that is currently inhabiting this beautiful windchime of yours," he said, voice melodic. If Mag was suprised before, this completely wiped her out.

"Spirit? Windchime? PAX!" She half-asked, half-yelled, mind still reeling with confusion. Wasn't Pax the name she had given...

"Please, don't blow a gasket, miss," Pax said, tossing his head. "I'd hate for you to pass out on me here."

Mag, realizing he was right, took a few deep breathes to calm herself. However, this didn't mean she wasn't going to get an explanation out of him, whoever he was.

"Alright, Pax, or whoever you are. What on earth are you doing here?"

He pondered this question for a moment, wondering how to frame his answer.

"Well, I guess you could say that I was magically attracted to this windchime of yours. I share a similar energy to it, so I was drawn here. I believe that these windchimes attract wandering spirits such as myself, to give them a chance to find a home," Pax stated, looking around and nodding. "And this place isn't half bad either."

"Err...thank you?" Mag said, not really knowing how to respond. "So you said your name is Pax? Isn't that...well..."

"Yes, it is the name you gave your windchime. Share the energy, share the name, I guess. Although, what kind of oddball names windchimes..."

"Hey!" Mag yelped at the slight insult, "You try living in an empty apartment with nobody to talk to..."

"Well then," he said, internally giving himself a point for invoking such a response, "I guess I came just in time then. I'll give you company and have a place to case out as a possible permanent residence."

Mag considered this idea for a moment, while Pax was congratulating himself on his good fortune. Sure, he was a little strange and all, but it wouldn't hurt to have someone else around. Turning to him, she smiled and nodded.

"Well, then, welcome to my humble abode."

Pax laughed, voice chiming like the windchime he had come with.

"Glad to be here."

{__A Game of Cat and WHAT!?__}

Mag snuck in the apartment, quietly pushing the door shut behind her with her hip. Silently cursing herself for not remembering to leave a light on when she left, she made her way through the dark kitchen, bruising her leg on a chair in the process. Eventually, she reached the den, where she attempted to find the lightswitch and flick it on with her elbow.

Of course, attempted was the key word. She found the side table before she found the switch, and, leg catching on it, she went flying across the room, landing in an armchair. With a hiss and a yelp, the two things she had been carrying in each had jumped for safety, one landing on the top of the chair, the other on Mag's head.

Pax, who had been resting, woke with a start at the clamor. Still lethargic, he gently floated across the room and moved the lightswitch into the on position. What he saw woke him up faster than any caffeine ever could.

"What the hell is going on here!" he yelled, eyes widening at the chaotic scene. Mag was apparently trying to get her hair unstuck from the area between couch cushions, while a pint sized collie sat on her head, panting happily. A bobtail cat, equally small, sat on the top of said chair, eying the whole scene with apparent amusement. Finally, Mag managed to pull herself free, leaving a few golden strands still stuck in the chair. The collie somehow managed to hold on throughout the whole ordeal, staying on her head even when she straighed up.

For once, Pax found himself at a loss for words. Mag grinned sheepishly at his previous outburst.

"Well, I was out shopping, ya know, and I kinda just ran into them..." she giggled nervously. "I couldn't just leave them behind after I saw them."

Pax finally recovered from his shock.

"Why the hell not? If you keep bringing things home, this place is going to get overcrowded!"

Mag rolled her eyes at him.

"Oh, please. They're smaller than you are. Besides, by that reasoning, I never should have brought you home."

"But...but..." Pax tried to stutter out a response, unhinged by her apparently sound logic. He was sure that those things were going to cause nothing but trouble for him, especially after the cat looked over at him and gave him an especially sly feline grin.

"No buts!" Mag said firmly, shaking a finger at him while scooping the collie off her head with the other hand. The dog began to happily lick her finger. "I'm sure that you'll get along just fine if you make the effort Pax! Besides, it'll be fun to have some animals in the house!" She put the collie down on the back of the chair next to the bobtail. Humming to herself, she walked into the kitchen, sounds of cooking soon emanating from within.

Sighing, Pax floated over to the armchair, hovering just above the perch of the two animals.

"Look, I dunno if this is going to work out, but..." he cursed to himself for not being able to think up something to say to these things. "Well, s**t, what's the worst thing that could happen?"

The collie wagged its tail at him happily, while the cat, still with the sly smile on its face, looked on...

{__Just a Day, Just an Ordinary Day (Not)__}

((Note: I will not be changing colors in this post, because Pax is the ony character who speaks throughout the whole thing.))

Pax felt remarkably alone at the moment. Of course, that could be always be because he was alone, Mag having left earlier. Her laptop crashed earlier in the morning, the entire system shutting down and most likely deleting itself as soon as she attempted to boot up. He had to admit, the expression on her face was absolutely priceless when her screen blitzed out, but it got downright scary when he started to laugh. It was all well and good to have fun at other's expense, but not when said other was about ten times bigger than you and in a pissy mood. She had stomped out of the house in a huff, taking the broken machine with her. Pax was a bit suprised that she had reacted so violently, to say the least, and, quite frankly, wondered what had gotten her goat.

Sighing depressedly in the silent and still air, Pax sunk down from his high vantage point in the room towards one of the armchairs. He really wished that Mag had left the balcony door open when she left, to get some fresh breezes in, or even to let him explore outside. If only the incident hadn't happened so early in the day, he would probably be soaring above Barton Town right about now.

Hovering above the surface of the cushion, Pax sighed again, theatrically.

"I'm bored!" he yelled, to nobody in particular, hearing his own voice echo around the walls. "Isn't there anything to do around here?"

Ah, well, ask a stupid question...

The chime spirit, so wrapped up in his own self lamentations, hadn't heard the scratching noises as a certain other resident had made their way up the side of the chair. He also hadn't seen the depressions their paws had made as they moved across the couch cushion. And, thus, our dear Pax was taken by suprise as a heavy weight slammed into him, sending him flying across the seat of the armchair. Swearing muffled by having the pillow in his face, he managed to extract his head and crane his neck around to see exactly what the hell was currently attempting to crush him.

Pax groaned upon seeing his attacker. He should have known it would be one of those things Mag brought home the other night. The one that was currently sitting on him was the collie, a.k.a. Fuzzball number one, as he would prefer to call it. It had some name or other, Tyxel, he thought he heard Mag call it, although he didn't really care if it was called Yankee Doodle or whatever. The damn thing was sitting on him, and it hurt, damn it! And worse! It was panting with it's tongue hanging out in a doggy smile, looking damn pleased with itself.

Seething, Pax gave a mighty heave of his body.

"GET OFF! STUPID MUTT!" He yelled, as the collie went flying backwards across the chair. It landed on the pillow some distance away, bouncing on the soft surface. Undaunted, it sat up and continued to smile at him. Pax gave it a dirty look, eyes narrowed into petulant slits. This however, seemed to encourage the dog more, as it bounded towards him. Yelping, Pax surged upwards, just barely avoiding the collie's leap. He cussed angrily at the thing, shaking his fist at it. As the minutes ticked on without a sight of remorse or change in the dog's demeanor, Pax calmed himself, setting from fury into a moody sulk.

"You're not even worth my time," he said haughtily, as Tyxel began to chase her own tail. Suddenly, he was distracted by a boring feeling in the back of his neck. Turning around, he found himself being watched by the fuzzball number one, a.k.a. Fayn, who was sitting on the mid shelf of the bookcase nearby. The bobtail seemed to ooze an air of superior smugness, corners of its mouth turned up in a self-satisfied grin. If Pax had been thinking straight, and had read Alice and Wonderland, he probably would have said that it reminded him of the cheshire cat. Right now, it only pissed him off further.

"What the hell are you staring at?!" he demanded, tension rising in his voice. Fayn, deciding to pick his battles, ignored the spirit, moving further back into the bookcase and disappearing into the shadows.

"Yeah, that's right! Don't mess with me, you sorry excuse for a cotton ball!" Pax shouted after the retreating form, trying to salvage his ego from the cat's view of the previous embarrassment with Tyxel. He wasn't sure exactly why he cared what the cat saw, but being knocked down by an overenthusiastic puppy did nothing for one's self esteem.

Turning back, he watched the dog sniff its hindleg, apparently finding something interesting. Twitching in disgust, he faced the window, watching the noon sun rise high into the sky.

"Mag better get back soon, or I'm going to go crazy," he muttered, resigning himself to the afternoon at home.

{__Homecoming__}

Pax sighed to himself impatiently, drumming his fingers on the sidetable. Mag was keeping him waiting forever. The one time that he really needed to tell her something, and she had to be cavorting around town, leaving him hanging.

Snorting in derision, Pax pouted. If she was going to make him wait, then maybe he shouldn't tell her the news. She could beg, plead, whatever, but he just wouldn't tell her...

Whacking himself on the forehead with the palm of his hand, he shook his head trying to clear these thoughts. How could he not tell her? This was something groundbreaking!

'Damn, damn, damn...." he swore to himself, "What's taking her so long?"

Meanwhile;

Mag raced down the street, breath heaving raggedly as her feet thumped against the pavement. She cursed her lack of athletic ability, her teacher for keeping her in class so long, and the busload of senior citizens in line ahead of her when she was at the super market. Well, maybe not the senior citizens. Hell knows, they couldn't help being slow.

Grocery bags flying out behind her like a penant, she turned down a side street between two brick buildings for a shortcut, swearing even more as the streetlights blinked on as the sun set. Eyes fixed straight ahead, she sprinted on forward, putting on a burst of speed in hopes of reaching home before nightfall.

Of course, she might have made it home even faster if she had been looking downwards and had noticed the large black trash bag sitting on the ground...

"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" she shrieked as she went flying forward, landing hard with a thud. Her bags went soaring through the air as well, landing several feet in front of her. Visibly shaking, she pulled herself into a sitting position. She sighed, thinking that she was alright, but then tried to stand...

"Yiiiiiii!" she yelled, and gasped with pain. Her ankle sent shooting pains all throughout her leg, and looking closer, she could see it beginning to swell. Whimpering softly, she wondered how she would get home. Hidden away on this back road, she feared that nobody would find her as night fell into darkness.

Back home...

"THAT'S IT! I've had it! WHERE THE HELL IS SHE!?!" Pax punched the wall angrily, then began swearing again as his fist throbbed.

"Where did she go? Bermuda or something? Shitnuts!" He scowled, becoming angrier and angrier by the second.

"I swear, when she gets ba.........Yiiiiii!" Pax's rant was suddenly interrupted by a heavy weight knocking him over. Ready to bawl out the damn dog once more, Pax was suprised when the weight quickly removed itself. Turning around, he saw that this time it was Fayn, who had lost the usual smug look for one of urgency. Pax was a little dumbfounded by the bobtails actions, seeing as how the cat barely ever came this close to anyone. As Fayn jumped down from the table and walked towards the balcony, Pax followed, anger ebbing into curiousity.

Fayn began to paw at the door, which Mag had left partially open for Pax.

"What, you wanna go out?"

The cat gave him a look that cleary said, 'Does it look like I wanna go out, idiot?' He made a motion with his head towards the door, another towards Mag's busted laptop sitting on the desk, then stared at Pax, deadpan.

After a few minutes, Pax realized what the cat was trying to say.

"You want me to go after Mag?"

Smug cat smile returning, Fayn nodded, then went back over to the bookcase, disappearing between the tomes. Shrugging to himself, Pax moved out onto the balcony and hovered over the railing.

"Now where would she be? Maybe I should contact her first..."

Pax nodded to himself, then began to sing, easing himself into the magic of Duet.

"Oh young lady far from home...
Please tell where now you do roam..."

Several blocks away...

Mag's head lifted in shock as the strains of music reached her. She could hear him, but where was he? She opened her mouth to reply, when another melody reached her.

"I know you shall try to talk b'fore long...
So now you must reply to me in song..."

Mouth snapping shut on her enquiry, Mag groaned to herself. Pax was really asking for it, wasn't he. Her voice was definitely not made for singing.

Resigning herself, Mag sang out in reply.

"Rushing to race the fall of night...
Betwixt brick buildings took a right...
O'er an obstacle I did fly...
In pain and fear there I now lie..."

There was a short pause before the reply came, as Pax thought up the lyrics.

"To answer your plight I now speed,
Coming to help the one in need."

Mag sighed in relief at having someone know where she was. But, how was Pax going to help her? Shifting her hurt leg into a more comforable position, Mag leaned against the wall of one of the buildings.

"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...." As she heard the growl, her body stiffened involuntarily. Eyes darting to the right, she made out the shape of a large black dog skulking at the corner of the street. Hardly daring to breath, she stayed still, trying to lose it's attention...

'Oh god...'

Pax flew across the town, searching for the place he knew Mag would be. They had passed it several times while out walking, so he was fairly sure he could find it. He felt vaguely guilty that he had been so mad with her before, and decided that he had to make it up to her.

Coming to the end of the dark side street, he could just catch a glimpse of Mag huddled in the shadows of a building. But why was she shaking...

"Aw s**t!" he yelled, catching sight of the huge rabid dog at the other end of the alleyway. Without waiting a moment, he lunged forwards, bringing his fingers up to his lips. His Wind Arrow went soaring towards his target, hitting the large creature directly between the eyes. Stunned, it ran off, most likely to find an easier target. Pax rushed over to Mag, praying that she was alright.

She lifted her head, giving him a weak smile, before passing out, exhausted by her fear and injury. Pax sighed in relief.

"Well, I'm just glad you're alright."

Moments later, a nearby hospital recieved a mysterious call telling the location of an accident victim. The ambulance arrived at the scene to find a young woman sleeping peacefully with a smile on her face, depite having a broken ankle. A strange wind kicked up as they took her away, and the emergency personel could swear they were being watched...

{__Ending Well?__}

Mag was bored. TV was only entertainment for a short while, especially considering the hospital's limited channels. She could only watch the news so much before she felt she would spontaneously combust, and her room mate apparently had a fetish for sports channels, and was constantly skipping between games.

Mag did not like sports very much. Needless to say, she didn't say much to her room mate, who apparently got an injury from the only young women's football team in the area. She had to admire the determination for such a sport, but that still didn't mean she wanted to watch it.

She was to be let out in a few days, thank goodness. She had to admit, she missed Pax and the others, who couldn't visit, thanks to the prescence of her room mate. Not that they'd allow animals and strange spirits in the hospital anyway. Stupid health regulations...

Sighing, she began to flip languidly through the same magazine for the umpteenth time...

Meanwhile;

"Where the hell is SHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Pax screamed, wanting to rip his hair out. Tyxel had managed to get Fayn out ouf hiding and had managed to annoy the cat beyond belief. The cat had, in response, swiped at the collie, and was now chasing her across the floor in rage. Pax felt himself slowly sinking into chaos.

"Come home soon..." he sobbed, "Or I'm gonna go freakin' insane!"

{__One and Ten, Homecoming Again__}

Mag thanked her college friend, who had agreed to give her a ride home in their car, and paused in front of the apartment building. Adjusting her crutches, she thanked high heaven that she could finally return to the chaos of everyday life. She really missed Pax and the others, life just wasn't the same without them and the chaos they brought. Well...maybe not all the chaos...

Meanwhile;

Pax was bored. Very very bored. Extremely, astronomically bored.

Tyxel, actually deciding to do something intelligent for once in her life, had hid from Fayn once the chase had gotten too violent for her. Despite previous lack of intelligence, the collie had somehow managed to completely disappear. Fayn had sulked for a while, then also pulled a vanishing act, most likely back into his favorite bookcase.

And so that left Pax with nothing to amuse himself with. Mag had been thinking of rewiring some of the appliances so that he could use them, before the incident, that was. And he hadn't even gotten to tell her yet...He doubted if she even remembered seeing him before her collapse.

Sighing, he hovered over to the balcony door, which had stayed open since Mag left that morning. Frankly, he was suprised they hadn't had any burglars, not that he couldn't handle them. Oh, yeah, he was the man, nobody would try to steal from their house while Pax was on the watch.

Still preening, he moved out onto the balcony, pausing in his self praise to quickly glance downwards. Of course, that quick glance quickly became an all out stare once he saw who was down in front of the building.

"SHE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!" Pax yelled, rushing back into the house looking for the others.
