Arrikanez had just finished being exiled from his own native planet, and dumped onto Gaia. The slums were where he had found himself, quite without a reason other than the other gods were vindictive little bastards. Not that Arri could think of a damn thing HE'D done to THEM to deserve this sort of treatment. Over the past week, he'd been trying to live like a mortal, trying to cope with his lack of powers. Trying to understand life on this planet, or to even learn the language. None of it was happening. He was still unhappy, pregnant, sick, and in pain. As he lay in bed that night, he heard the barking of dogs, and the screaming of women and children. Not to mention hearing sirens as he watched the neon lights of blue and red make shapes on the ceiling, combating with the already bright green and pink of the whorehouse across from this place. For some reason, he just felt... wrong. But his body needed rest. Being stripped of all his powers was making him sicker and sicker with each passing day. Living in filth with barely enough room for himself to cope was not helping matters at all. And, he noted as a tear ran down his cheek, these sort of conditions weren't exactly favorable - nor conducive - to raising two happy, healthy little boys. The other gods had placed him in the worst possible situation, on the worst possible planet for such a thing to exist. Essentially booted him in the a** with a goodbye present of '******** you, have a nice life'. It was depressing. And that was one of the last thoughts that crossed Arri's mind as he started to drift off into a restless sleep, ignoring the woman screaming outside the window, and ignoring the howl of sirens as they raced past the abandoned hotel which he now called home. He pulled the ratty blankets up closer to his cheek. Blackness and, finally, peace set in.

As he slept, his soul was dragged out of his body, two others dragged along with it. One was carefully contained inside of himself - the baby he'd been carrying - and the other was in the form of a dog collar at his throat. Slowly the man was forced to 'awaken', floating above himself with a bizarre and rather....ornate door before him. How odd?

Arri was about sick and tired of waking up in strange places... but he had to cope. He was having to learn to cope with a whole lot of things now, and this was on the more... mild... of the situations he'd been thrown into. Something he expected to happen, rather than something he didn't expect. But this wasn't Juridia, and unexpected things weren't supposed to HAPPEN here... Plus, the purple woman had told him he'd fall asleep in some sort of state. This must be what she meant. He checked to make sure the smaller spirit of the unborn child inside of him was safe, before floating toward the door with some difficulty. Arri had never been out of his body before - that he could remember - so learning a whole new mode of locomotion was a little trying. After a few failed attempts, he managed to make his whole body move at the same time. Which was a lot less disconcerting than watching his legs move on ahead of him, or ending up leaving his feet behind. The ornate door interested him. It was bizzare - like himself. And he had to brace himself for the worst as he pushed it open... not so much because he WANTED to.. as he felt he HAD to. And it all had something to do with an important event... some change. The dog collar seemed to be responsible.

Once he'd reached the other side of the door, it vanished behind him. He found himself in a rather ornate room. It was floating in the middle of a cloudy sky with nothing really sealing it off from the outside. A being was relaxing on the couch - or well, seemed to be. All that was visible to Arri was a gray hooded cloak with seemingly no one and nothing inside of it. Yet it wasn't flat and just lying there - it had form as if someone was in it, that someone just wasn't currently visible or fully tangible. Huh, and the relic was drawing him towards it.

Arrikanez understood that this was a dream. Or at least he tried to understand he was not actually floating through space and time. But that was quickly going out the window as he neared the figure. Was it unconscious? Was HE unconscious? He didn't know. The only thing to do was draw closer, as the collar bade him. A gray hoodie? Or gray cloak? He was too far away to tell... but drawing closer. Could the other being SEE him yet?...

Well considering the other being seemed totally immobile - or at least not showing any current mobility - it must not have noticed him or if it did, it couldn't do a damn thing about it. Funny, the collar seemed to be giving Arri the feeling that he should lay a hand on the cloak.

Quietly, Chaos nodded at the collar, as if it could see him - then he moved to the side of the room, wondering what, exactly, he was doing here. However, Arri obeyed the insistence of the collar, reaching out his hand as he drew nearer. His hand brushed the fabric of the cloak, and whatever was inside it...

The cloak still felt empty though as his hand brushed over it, the fabric started to turn sort of into a seeming mist, as did the collar. It floated from the ex-god's neck and into the ghostly figure, causing it to strangely shrink.
When all the floating and some glowing and shrinking stopped, there was a small cloaked figure before Arri. This one, however, had a child wearing it. The boy's skin was brown and gnarled at points, his fingers thin but arms and body thicker. His hair was soft and flowery and his eyes were warm, purple and green, and he yawned a bit, stretching and staring up at Arri. A sort of 'oh, hello there, are you going to pick me up now?' expression. Silly willow tree kid.

Arri felt his heart melt. He moved over to the small cloaked figure, and gently lifted him, marveling at the skin and features. The sleepy little gaze was all he needed to hook him. He WAS this child's father. He knew it the moment he touched the gnarled skin, and heard the giggle that arose when he hoisted the boy to a shoulder.

As the former chaos god claimed the child, the doorway opened in front of him, allowing the man to reenter his body and the pair to go back to sleep.
