i've read a few reviews of them i found off of google and they all turn out pretty darn good. The origanal JAPANESE models are the one to find, once they moved the production place to wherever quality started going down.
here's an old add i found while diging through google. the copyright on the page said 1990 so its one of the good ones.

Mine is in a Metalic midnight blue (i think it was called Jet Blue at the time) with a black headstock, and the original Edge Trem (lisasned under Floyd Rose)

the paint on tine acts wierd, when its in darkness or half light so to speak it is more black than blue but when lit up its an almost anoying shade of blue, and it had a black painted headstock instead of the usual body color paint.
the only problems with mine that i could find were 1 when i got it it was filthy (fixed that) 2 the action needs to be adjusted and i don;t the the Allen wrench, and the tremmelo arm was gone when i bought it, and when i got a new one i found out the ring on the inside of the trem is worn almost compleatly out so the arm will fall out easily
