My dad gave me an article about the gay marriage suits which are going on in Albany right now and it's looking like the couples seeking same sex marriage are gonna win (which means that there would be two different rulings in two different areas so it would have to go to the state supreme court WOOT!) But anyways, the same sex couples are fighting on the grounds of Equal protection under the law and freedom of speech (saying that marriage is a way of communicating love for one another). Anyways the state defendant is saying that those do not apply and that the state only needs a rational basis for the gay marriage ban. He went on some thing about how NY loves kids and wants kids to be born into a stable environment and doesn't want to promote children being born to couples who are not married. Even the judges were saying his arguement made no sense! It looks like we are winning.

ALRIGHT!!! That means one down, and....295,734,134...more...people...to go...
Uggh!! No matter how many cases we win, we always seem to have a nemisis around every bend!(like in Resident Evil!) I'm dreading the future that i'll be living in, gay marriage might still be illegal, and more states might ban gay sex(how they do that, I don't know. Do they watch from outside your window!?)! All the same, every little step we make, is a big help for the future. Hopefully, we'll be able to make a good, bigot free one! mrgreen

Well gay sex laws are rarely ever enforced but people use it to discriminate. like "Oh! We're not going to give a job/apartment/medical procedure/etc to a felon". I'm hopeful common sense prevails, and if we keep arguing the first and fourteenth amendments we should be fine.

America's just a country that's full of bullshit, and society gets ******** up the a** a bit more each day ((learned this from George Carlin)). People no longer really know what's good for them, and so they fear change. Giving us rights means that a lot of change will be needed. We're kind of like the Native Americans. Look at how shitty they were treated. Now they have money and good lawyers. Now they are siezing whole towns back that were given to them in treaties that were broken. Just wait, as soon as we amass a large support group and beneficial donations to hire the best lawyers to argue our position, the US will have to allow us to marry. There will simply be no denying it. Right now, they are just being stubborn assholes.

The arguments agianst gay marriage are very weak...and always will be because they are based on morals....and religion. Which doesn't matter because of the first amendment to the constitution. And they can no longer say that churches do not support it...because on Christian church has agreed to preform marriage cerimonies for same-sex couples (I forgot whether this was Church of God, or Church of Christ)
