 Isis was so unsuspecting.
She paced back and forth. The night was like a soft, icy blanket as it soon took the place of the warm sun. So sudden was the feeling and thought. It crossed her mind only once before, but she was able to shake it off. And it was so long ago.
But today, her mind was speaking in riddles and poems. The only thing she could think of was Leer. Her feelings toward him had intensified by a million times.
The moon was full and bright, and seemed to be shining in sadness of her restlessness. A night so black, with only the stars to lead one astray. They twinkled a bright silver accenting the moons light. The world around her seemed to brighten a fraction.
"Those stars," Isis whispered as she stopped and stared at them, "They're like-like," she couldn't finish the sentence.
Isis wanted to be near him, and speak to him. She wanted to stare into his beautiful eyes. They were always such goregous pools of light that captivated her so.
No! What in the world was she thinking about?
Mentally she shook herself for the zillionth time today. Isis was so confused, and felt stupid. They were friends, if not very close and friendly friends at that, but just friends.
That thought almost killed her heart to even think about.
Shaking her head back and forth at herself in disgust, Isis scolded herself under her breath. She was just so confused.

Leer glided through the soft moonlit clouds. the night was so peaceful and calm. everything was perfect. he looked up at the sky and watched the stars twinkle and wink and him. they kinda reminded him of the way Isis's eyes looked at night. he laughed to himself and turned towards the cave were he thought he had seen isis earlier. not like he was staling her, but he he just wanted to know were she was staying. he figured that he might as well stop in for a chat of this lovely evening.
he pulled in his wings and dropped to her cave. gliding gracefully to the entrance he landed and looked around. it took a while for his eyes to adjust to the light, but it was easy for him to make out her shining eyes. "why hello there, do you think there is room here for one more guest?"
something whizzed past Leer's ear, but when he turned there was nothing there. he turned back to Isis, nothing looked different about her, she was just his really good friend, maybe a little more, but that was it, and leer was fine with that.
it looks like cupids arrow missed.

Isis took a deep breath. She knew someting wasn't right. Earlier she swore she had felt something pinch her. But it was a quick stinging feeling, then it was gone.
Her familiars were in a sweet, deep slumber in the very back of another cave nearby. Their snoring told her they were quite tired, as she heard the beating of wings. Then his voice.
Isis turned to see Leer, and smiled sweetly. "Good evening to you too. Yes there is room," she said casually. "So what brings you here?"

Leer walked in farther to get out of the cold night, and into the warmish cave. he went up to isis and sat next to her. "well, i was just flying by, and i saw you land here a while back. i took a quick check around to see if there were any open caves, but the only other one had a terrible bat colony living there, so i decided it would be best to stay with you. plus, its always nice to be with you." he smiled and chuckled deeply.

Isis nodded as she listened. "Well aren't you lucky?" she teased lightly. She glanced out at the night and sighed. The feeling was so overwhelming, and she knew it wasn't like her to be like this. "It's always fun to be with you," Isis said softly looking back at him. "Flying during the night huh? You're a brave one. I'd be afraid I wouldn't be able to see. And my cave is always open to friends."
Even though she was trying to keep a casual conversation going, her heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to pop right out. And that word friend, it nearly killed her to say it. Truth was she wasnted to be more than that.
This was crazy. It was like she was a love-struck teen. Isis shook the thought away and tried to ignore it.

Leer laughed and stretched. a yawn erupted from his mouth. "oh dear sorry about that. its rather late. i prefur not to fly at night. i just feel so limited, it would be terible to try and dive off a cliff and end up splat on the ground cause i could not see were it was. this was a special situation though." he leaned over nudged Isis's shoulder gentally. she seemed a little on edge tonight, but he did not want to bring it up. he was afraid that he might set her off on what ever she was hiding.

"It's not a problem," Isis said as she laughed at what he said. "The thought of it scares me, yet it's amusing," she nuzzled him in return. She relaxed for a moment, closing her eyes and letting the confusion calm a bit.
Usually she was so composed and had herself under control. It surprised her that now of all times she was like this. Isis leaned into him and felt some of whatever it was, melt away.

leer laughed. "im glad that you find my splattering body a thing of amusement. i guess if it make you laugh its fine with me." leer leaned into her even more. there was a strange feeling in the air tonight. it was a good, warm feeling. he felt like being irrational, like doing something crazy. he shook his head to clear his mind. it was probobly just the cool night air, or the warmth of isis next to him.

"Oh I didn't mean it that way,"Isis said as she felt a bit of shock run through her. She wasn't thinking of how her words sounded or meant to him, and felt herself tense at how stupid he must've thought she soounded.
Something told her to relax. He hadn't taken offense to it.
"What I meant was the thought of that happening to another would be amusing, and frightful."Isis explained a bit more clearly. "I'd be devastated and lost without you here." It scared her how true the words were as they left her mouth.
She dared to say, "And I love you too much," in barely a whisper, it was almost drowned out by a light breeze. It was warm, even though earlier it had felt cold to her. Isis hesitated to say anything more.

Leer nodded in understanding. "i knew what you ment. and i feel the same way. i hold you very close to my heart, and im not sure how i would spend my time if i was not following you around..." he cut the sentance short. he had not ment to say that, it just kinda fell out. what was wrong with him. he heard isis whisper something next to him. he sat for a second trying to figure out what she had just said. "did you just say you love me? like a good friend, or are we talking more?" something stabbed his leg and words started to rush to his mouth. he tried to hold them back, but it was too late. they spilled out in a mad rush of emotional feelings. "beacause ive always thought of you as more than a friend. i loved you ever since we first met and the way you always seemed to be so composed. it would make me mad, cause i always just wanted to tell you how i really felt. every time we part i follow you to make sure nothing happens to you. and so that i always know were to find you if i need to see your magnificent face. i love you isis, not as a friend, but as a lover. i care about you, and i always will." he shut his mouth as a look of dread spread across his face. what had he just done? he pulled away from isis and turned his back to her. he was ashamed, that should have been done better.

Isis listened as he spoke. "That's sweet of you, and oddly weird but I understand. I hold you close to my heart as well." She paused as he asked her the question and couldn't help but to hesitate on the answer. Once she was about to tell him the truth, a rush of words spilled from him.
Isis sat there shocked for a moment. It took her what seemed forever to take in what he had said. Then she was unable to hold back much longer what she felt. Isis stared at his back as she spoke. "I've always wanted to be more than just a friend Leer," she said his name with warmth and kindness, "I've loved you since the first time I met you. You were so beautiful and you still are. Whenever we parted I felt like turning back to come find you. Parting is such sweet sorrow," Isis stopped. She was choosing her words. That wasn't right, she wanted him to know the whole truth. Isis walked over to Leer and leaned against him. She wrapped her tail lightly around his and nuzzled his cheek lovingly.
"I couldn't wait to see you again and to look into those eyes of yours one more time. I'd spend the days searching for you, but I never knew where to look. I've had many restless nights, unable to sleep and whenever I was able to sleep, all I could think or dream about was you. Leer I love you so much, I'd spend my whole life with you as lovers. Nothing would be worth living, unless it was with you. How lively you are and fun to be around, I hated myself for always trying to hide how I really felt. I knew I could tell you, I just didn't want to because I was afraid of how you would react. Leer I care about you too and I always will," Isis let the words come out as they were meant to be. She was tired of thinking about what to say next, or who to say it to.

Leer turned to her and wrapped his wing, lovingly, round her. he felt so complete. this is were he was supposed to be. he nuzzled her cheek gently. "ironic isn't it, that we were both too afraid to say how we felt. now we both know, we are meant to be together, i can feel it. i love you Isis." the words ran smoothly out of his mouth, not like the jumble before. "no more words now, lets enjoy this night together." he turned and looked out the cave entrance at the moon and the soft clouds. he then looked back into Isis's bright eyes. he truly did love her.

Isis nodded. "I love you too, and couldn't agree more," she whispered. The words she spoke had more meaning to them than just what they usually meant.
'I love you' were just words, but she was ready to show him she truly did love him.
Isis felt her heart bloom with passion. She stared back into Leer's beautiful eyes. The truth was so clear in them.It was waiting to happen. Fate can be tricky on how it's going to play out.
Cupid's arrow seemed to seal the fate. How cruel do you think his arrow is now?
