I've always found that drinking a ton of water helps me get over illness a lot faster.

Drink lots of fluids, and try to keep yourself as well-rested as possible.

Take Zinc and that Zircam or whatever the hell it's called. There's something called like airflow, airport, something with air. Airline? I don't know, but it's supposed to be good.

Stay hyrdrated. Try putting some VIX? Around your throat, that helps majorly also. Take some Coricedin? D. However it's spelled. Sorry, my spelling for medicines is completely wacked. Best wishes though. 3nodding

Because of all of the germs that are around you when you're sick make sure to open up any windows that are around you when your staying in one place. The sunshine can stop certain bacteria from growing.

Drink juice and water and, I don't know if this is true for you, but take a nice warm bath. It always makes me feel better when I'm sick.

Clean up after yourself. This includes and bottles or cups that you're using. Get them away from you, give them a good rinse, and make sure that you get a new cup/bottle before you get some more to drink. This way you aren't drinking after yourself and just injesting the same germs that are making you sick in the first place.

^^ I hope you feel better soon.

What helps me is pushing hard on my sinuses several times a day. Push on either side of your nostrils for 15-30 seconds, then on the inside corner of your brow bone, then on your temples. If you do this in conjunction with using homeopathic drops, it works really well. After doing this at least once, it always makes my sinuses go like crazy and gets the illness out of my body faster.

Drink tons of fluids, especially ones with Vitamin C, or take v.C supplements. You can buy them in tasty citrus-flavored tablets from the pharmacy, or use drink mixtures like Emer'gen-C to get your daily dose. One packet of Emer-gen-C has anywhere from 1000%-1700% of your daily value. whee

Another important piece, is of course, to get plenty of rest. If your body tells you it's too tired to do something, listen to it!

Everyone has their own little home remedies that may or may not work depending on how it will effect you personally. I guess I will add mine ot the list. Sorry if they are repeats, I didn't really read the whole thread.

1) Get lots of rest and sleep, obviously.

2) Keep warm. Not necissarily bundled up all the time, but just make sure you don't get too cold for long.

3) Take cold/flu meds. Which kinds you should take are up to how you know your body reacts to different meds. Tylenol Cold & Flu and Robintussin work well for me personally. it is usually best to start taking a light does of cold and flu meds when you start to feel icky to help keep it form getting too bad. It won't stop it completely though.

4) Make sure to keep eating. I know when you are sick, you don't have much of an appetite, but you need to eat at very least three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner). The foods will help you stay strong and get over it faster. try to stay away from junky and rich foods, but don't rely only on soups, lol.

5) Consult a doctor if you feel it is getting worse. They may give you meds and advice you already know, but it never hurts to have a professional check you out just in case.

6) Keep hygine up. I don't know why, but most tend not to do simple bodily maintence like showers and brushing teeth when they are sick. You still need to keep clean.

7) Lemon and honey. Lemon and honey teas and cough drops and meds have been proven to be a more natural way to help that works just as good as regular meds. Of course, with regular meds you get that drugged up feeling that most people say is a sign "it is working", lol.

Those are just some things tha I know have worked for me and others. Of course, it always varies form person to person. Just see what works for you, even if you have to tweak it a bit. If it gets too bad, see a doctor.

I would keep hydrated, and do all of the above, EXCEPT FOR MEDICATION.

Avoid it if at all possible, because it can lead to germs becoming stronger and more resistant. But, if you need to, because of a headache, and runny/stuffy nose, I recommend Sudafed.
