Every week I'll put up some facts about the race that the Sprint cup is doing. There maybe some weeks where I will put some facts for Nationwide and Truck Series facts too depending on where they are. I do ask that no body post in this topic just so I can keep things organized.
Daytona 500:
-Lee Petty won the first race in 1959.
-Richard Petty has won the most Daytona 500s at 7
-There are only 3 drives that have won back to back Daytona 500s.
-9 drivers have won the Daytona 500 from the pole postion.
-There are 4 families of drives who have more than one person win a Daytona 500.
-There are only 5 drivers who have won the Budweiser Shootout and the Daytona 500 in the same year.
-There are 8 drivers who have won the Gatorade Duel and the Daytona 500 in the same year.
-No one has yet to win the Budweiser Shootout, the Gatorade Duel, and the Daytona 500 in the same year.
-Mario Andretti is the only driver to win the Daytona 500 who was born outside of the United States.
-Joey Logano is the youngest driver to start the Daytona 500
-5 drivers have won the Daytona 500 and the Cup championship in the same year
-4 out of 7 of Richard Petty's Chamionships he had won the daytona 500 in the same year
-6 drivers won the Daytona 500 as their first race win.
-Out of the last 5 Daytona 500 winners only 3 of them made the chase the year that they won.

Auto Club 500:
-The first race was in 1997 where Jeff Gordon was the winner
-Before 2005 this race was held in May
-Jeff Gordon currently has the most wins at this race with 3
-Ford is the leading manufacture in wins with 8
-Dodge and Toyota have no wins currently
-There are only 2 drivers who have mutliple wins at this race so far. Jeff Gordon (3) & Matt Kenseth (2)
-The farthest back of a starting position a person has won in the race was 31st

Shelby 427:
-Mark Martin won the first race in 1998
-Though this is Kurt and Kyle Busch's home track. Neither of them have won here.
-Jimmie Johnson has the most wins here with 3. They, like his championships, came three in a row.
-Kyle and Kurt Busch are starting 1st and 2nd respectivly in this race on Sunday.
-Only one race has ended short for rain.
-Only one race had gone Green-White-Checkered

Kobalt Tools 500:
-The first race was in 1960 Bobby Johns won that first race.
-Bobby Labonte & Jeff Gordon has the most wins for this race of any active driver with 2
-Cale Yarborough has the most wins over all with 5 wins
-Last years winner Kyle Busch will start 9th
-The pole sitter Mark Martin hadn't gotten a pole since 2001 before getting this pole.

Food City 500:
-The first race was in 1961. Joe Weatherly won that race.
-Dale Earnheart and Darrel Waltrip have the most wins for this race with 5

-Jeff Gordon and Kurt Busch have the most wins of any active driver with 4
-Chevy has the most manurfacture wins with 20
