When I see My Father’s Face
When I see my Father’s face, there is no sorrow or pain. When I see my father’s face, I see him waiting for the train. The train I road on that fateful day, When I was less than 2 years old and my Mom gave me away. When I see my father’s face, I see him by my side all day. He stayed there caring for me till the scarlet fever went away. When I see my father’s face in the old photos I have. I see my friend, my hero, he was a wonderful Dad. I see us at the Commons and at Bunker hill. We are walking together and I am a small person still. When I see my father’s face, he is talking to me as a teen. He is giving me advise about the world, the nice people and the mean. When I see my father’s face, I see him giving me a choice. To choose the faith I wanted, my heart was happy and I did rejoice. When I see my father’s face, I see a grandpa man. He’s holding his first grandson close with his own hands. When I see my father’s face, it is now fathers day. And a cake with yellow roses, his smile so big and gay. When I see my father’s face, I see a friend who came for advise. He wanted to know how to start a new life. When I see my father’s face, we are at the amusement park. Today I am 18 and we stayed until dark. When I see my father’s face, it is with a message Lee gave me. To call collect, I thought emergency, but when he answers he says just wanted to wish you Merry Christmas baby. When I see my father’s face, we are talking once again. While traveling the mountain road, discussing things at hand. When I see my father’s face, again he is at my side. From a near death accident, on one of my homeward drives. When I see my father’s face, we are laughing and joking all the time. We had so many of those days, the memory is sweet in my mind. When I see my father’s face, I am as proud as I can be. He gave his heart to Jesus, he’s born again you see. When I see my father’s face, he says did you read the Bible today. Wow, this one verse in Proverbs it really paves the way. When I see my father’s face, we are at a friends pool, he and another person too. He says he has just one thing left to do. He’s getting baptized, to establish his commitment with thee Lord and you always knew. When I see my father’s face, he is looking down and smiling with a smile big as it can be. He is standing next to my Grandmother, at Heavens Gates just waiting there for me. Written by Jan Gale © May25,2005

Wow. Nice poem. Although it seems like the rhyming pattern makes the lines a bit forced, not flowing naturally. heart
(I'll add more later when I'm not using an onscreen keyboard 3nodding )
