There are two kitchens in the Academy which are self-catered, although the cupboards are always stocked up with food and tasty midnight snacks. These kitchens are open all week as well as weekends for when the cooks aren’t around. These kitchens both have fairly sized dining areas, but nothing compared to the large halls where you can find yourself a meal by the hired cooks.

A lot of the older students hang out in these kitchens and the odd teacher too.

Jessy followed him quietly, she was like a mouse. Light on her feet and an even lighter voice, if she yelled would it really be heard? Paranoia issues caused her to walk behind people, she wasn't comfortable leading someone somewhere unless they walked next to her but even that made her edgy. Her dad had always told her about watching her back, well...she wouldn't have to worry about it if there wasn't anyone behind her. Then again no one really had to be behind her to hurt her, they could be anywhere. She sighed lightly when they arrived in the kitchen, and looked around lightly to see if there was possibly just a random bag of potato chips laying around. To her luck their wasn't so now she'd have to hunt for them. There wasn't ever usually a lot of people around during the summer sometimes it was just her, and sometimes the staff let her pick out stuff to have stocked. They usually meant a lot of snack foods. Now that everyone was coming back though everything went back to its huge variety.

She went over to a cupboard and opened it up, canned foods in that one. "So what are you hungry for?" She asked Will as she opened a different cabinet, it was full of pasta. She opened up a different one and eureka! Potato chips, best part was they were honey BBQ Frito's, her favorite. A bag she hid around here in the summer must of been found then moved to the cupboard to keep mice or ants away from getting into it. It wasn't opened so she pulled it open. Reaching in she took a small handful and munched on them watching him somewhat as he raided the place to. "Hmm...want some of my chips?" She asked kinda holding the bag out slightly and making it wiggle somewhat.

William was slightly unnerved by her following behind him, but whatever, he just continued to walk without a word until he was in the kitchen. As she foraged for food so did he, checking all the cupboards, the fridge and the freezer before he would decide what he wanted. ‘’I dunno…something…’’ he murmured, looking back in one of the cupboards filled with more carbohydrate food then you could ever imagine. His ability caused his body to need to be filled with substance almost constantly. Any movement he made would be considered as exercise and when you exercise you burn fat and energy. So he needed to refill his body with carbs, protein and water. He drank an insane amount of water.

He pulled out a large bag of past, pouring around half a kilograms worth into a pan he’d already set with boiling water. He looked over at Jessy as she was shaking a bag of crisps towards him and offering him some.

‘’No thanks, gotta watch the pounds’’ he joked, smacking his hand on his washboard flat stomach. He pulled some mincemeat from the fridge, dropping it into a frying pan and turning it to a low heat as it began to spit.

‘’So how did you cope…I mean…being here all summer? Not many people stayed behind.’’ He couldn’t imagine being stuck in the Academy for that long. It’d be his last year here and he couldn’t wait to get out and just be free of classes, constantly being told that he should watch his ability. He still wasn’t able to fully control it.

Jessy just hugged the bag back to herself as she stood there leaning against the counter munching on them lightly. She listened to his question carefully, as he asked her about how she dealt with being here all school year and then all summer long. Sure it was boring she admitted but she liked the peace and quiet with everyone gone. Sure she'd of liked to of gone home, but for her there wasn't really anything to go home to. Her parents split, her dad lived with Sydney, who was the oldest, then Crystal, the youngest, lived with her mom. She sighed trying to think of an answer over carefully. "Well.." She thought a moment more before continuing. "Don't have to put up with my sisters arguments...that's always a big bonus...It doesn't bug me really..I like the quiet...the isolation sorta." She shrugged trying to think of a better reason then just that, cause who didn't like a bit of time to themselves sometimes?

The only thing she could think of though was at least knowing no one could get hurt, that was always a big bonus. On countless times when she was little a lot of things got hurt. Well almost, usually she found a way to get around it to shield it from whatever it was going after. Honestly it was like she brought out a person bad side threw their shadow, it wasn't just simple manipulation of it, but the fact the figures became solid instead of just standing up and doing whatever. "Yea...I guess that's all...Isolation from people...I mean..you never know what'll happen when you have something you cant control right?" She asked him munching on another handful of Frito's.

Will added a whole jar of garlic and mushroom sauce into the frying mince, stirring it around and lowering the heat. He drained the pasta, scoffing a few pieces before adding everything together on one plate. He placed it down on the breakfast bar across from Jessy and took a seat beginning to munch.

‘’Yeah. I get exactly what you mean’’ he mumbled a little with some food in his mouth, before swallowing and giving her a nod.

‘’I’m not quite capable of controlling my abilities fully. It’s hard. I don’t want to hurt or break anything, but sometimes…I just don’t know how much strength I’m using’’ he shrugged taking a few more bites.

‘’You can manipulate things…or something can’t you?’’

He chased some pasta around the plate, trying to stab at it a few times before eventually catching it with his fork.

Jessy ate some more chips before answering his question, "Yea...I can manipulate Shadows and Time.." She said to him taking another small handful of chips and devouring them. She was a big snack-a-holic, seeing her actually eat regular food was rare. She sighed though and ate a couple more chips, "And you...what was it you did again?" She asked him leaning against the counter as she was earlier with the chips still in hand, she was about done with them though. Rolling up the bag she sat it on the counter and stood there patiently waiting for his answer.

Jessy looked around slightly she needed a clip so the bag wouldn't unroll, so she walked around hunting for one, they were around here somewhere, she looked in a couple drawers for one before finding them, she got it out and walked back over to her bag of chips to clip it closed.

There were already two people in the kitchen that he managed to find first. Even after accessing the school's public server and pulling up a map of the campus he had ended up hopelessly lost, taking a total of two wrong turns and one unnecessary and horribly cramped elevator ride.

They didn't seem to notice him when he slunk in through the door, which gave him a moment to realize that they looked awfully familiar. Coincidence of coincidences, it was the students he had passed up earlier in the dormitory hallways - the senior boy he was vaguely aware of knowing and the girl he couldn't remember seeing before. They were idly chatting, vaguely-familiar-guy scarfing pasta and looking particularly large next to unfamiliar-girl.

Ah, he'd been standing and staring at them for one second too long. If they happened to notice him now, they'd probably think he was being a creep… following them around, watching them eat…

"Don't mind me," he said, breaking into their conversation and putting a bit of a bounce in his step as he walked into the room. He hoped he didn't sound as unsure and awkward as he felt; he rummaged through the nearest cupboard he could reach. "Just came to grab a snack."
