Ceribri knightofthe21stcentury SarBear823 1. I'm completely and UTTERLY 100% OBSESSED!!! It's just the modern ones though that I watch. I just love the whole concept of an alien in the form of a human who everyone knows as The Doctor who can travel through time that takes a female companion with him. And I love the storylines and the aliens. Also the fact that it's not too scary, but scary enough to make it good. I don't usually like the sci-fi genre, but this is an exeption. 2. As I said, I've only watched the modern series. The first episode I saw though was the first one with Sarah Jane and I think it was Tom Baker. But I found that pretty boring because it was in black and white. This series was being played on TV about 6 years ago I think. After that, the first episode I saw was Rose, and I started watching it every week, lovin it! I've seen series 1 and 3 once, and series 2 and 4 twice. I haven't seen The Runaway Bride (I reeeeally want to see that sometime soon) and I didn't see the whole finale of series 3 with the Master in it. I am trying to get the series 1 and 3 box sets ASAP! Why was it in Black and White? O____O 1. Why was it in black & white?? 2. I remember Sarah Jane being with Three.. I don't kno why it was in black and white, I'm pretty sure it was though. And it definitely was Sarah Jane, but maybe I'm wrong about which Doctor it was. As I said, I don't know much about the classics.

2. The first episode I saw was "bad wolf" After i watched the 1st season from the beginning I decided to watch the old series. So far ive watched(or listened when it comes to the missing episodes) all the serials for doctors 1-3, and 9-10.

1. I'm a 4/5 fan of it. I love it for being science fiction without getting too much into the technical stuff.
2. I've been watching for... two years now? I started with the Ninth doctor and I'm making my way through that. And in four weeks, I'm going to start watching the other doctors. My favorite's the Eighth, but that's only based on the youtube videos I've seen... I can't seem to find the movie anywhere I can watch it.

1. Hmmm. I can unleash the inner geek. I store up trivia and splurt it out at odd moments. It's fun.
2. Started with 9, have watched the recents ones at least twice, and I'm trying, work/Battlestar-Galatica-watching-from-beginning permitting, to watch some old episodes we've got somewhere.
...
By the way... I'm typing this while wearing my 'Let's do the time war again' hoodie. And staring at my University of Gallifrey bag. Newly arrived today. Ahh, the joys of the internet.

Dr John Smith I know you can be a huge fan and not have seen all the episodes but I'm just curious. I'd hope so! smile There's 108 lost episodes, so if it isn't possible to be a true fan without having seen everything then there've been no true fans since 1964 when Marco Polo was last seen by human eyeballs. Eirwyn The earliest 3rd Doctor stories with Liz Shaw & maybe some with Jo Grant were B&W Not quite. From the start of the Third Doctor's era all the stories were originally filmed and broadcast in colour. But, but, but... the colour masters of some of these stories ( Doctor Who and the Silurians, Terror of the Autons, part three of Planet of the Daleks...probably some others) were then lost/destroyed/misplaced-down-the-back-of-the-sofa and so all we had left for a while there were black and white prints. Nowadays I think they've all been digitally restored to colour.

Sarah Jane's first appearance was with the Third Doctor, and like Richard_Swift said, some of his stories somehow lost their colour masters.

Though I don't think The Time Warrior was ever one of them...come to think of it, it can't have been since it was quite an early VHS release by BBC Enterprises, and it was in colour then - long before they'd have had affordable tech with which to recolour it.
Hmm. The mystery deepens. I wonder if SarBear823 just accidentally had the colour knob on her telly-box turned down? smile

1. You're love of doctor who with a reason.
2. How long you've watched/how many times you've seen each episode? I know you can be a huge fan and not have seen all the episodes but I'm just curious.
1) I love the idea behind Doctor Who. That life is full of possibilities and anyone and everyone can make a difference in the world. I love the fact the Doctor takes normal people, average everyday people, and changes them forever, opening their minds. I love the idea that the universe is so much bigger than we can imagine. Its magical. Its inspiring. My children will watch Doctor Who with me.
2) I started watching it in 2005 avidly. Before that I only watched occasionally whenever it was available (which wasn't often). Now, I've watched or am waiting for new ones to come in from the library. I love 9, 10, 4, and 5. I like 6 and 7 (love their sense of style). I haven't actually watched anything with 8. 1, 2 and 3 are interesting and kinda funny.
I also own 4 comic books of Doctor Who. I have a 5th but I'm not sure where it went (Its hiding with my Starwars comic). 2 are from an arc called Forgotten with 10 having flashbacks to his previous regenerations. One is a 6 Doctor. And the last is a "Classic Doctor Who" with 4. I bought them today.

I'm not really a fan of all the doctor but IM OBSESSED WITH DAVID TENNANTS DOCTOR and christopher ecclestons was also good!!!!

Peter Davidson and Pertwee are by far the best of the original doctors, and i love them both like my friends. However, David Tennant is my favorite actor of all time and i was thrilled to hear that he was doing Doctor Who.PS The real doctor and i are also best buddys and we're more close than Rose or Sarah Jane or ANYONE could ever imagine. wink wink wink wink

1. I love it because the story can keep going and be reinvented by each new doctor and companion. That's why it can continue to be produced. It's also a bit funny at points rather than just being a serious drama.
2. I've been watching since I was like 4, I actually started with the 4th doctor. And I've seen most of the episodes more than once.

That story featured Sarah Jane as the companion.
