@Krisse: well, it's not the computer which lacks the ability. I do. I don't know how, and using the button that's supposed to take said screenshots does nothing... stare stupid VAIO...

The fact that you're using Vaio should have nothing to do with it... At least that's how I see it. Are you holding down the function key? That's what I have to do to take a screen shot...
