Roy Mustang was sprawled out on the snow-covered ground, underneath a barren tree. Maes Hughes was probably searching all over the HQ looking for him-possibly to harass him about not taking things further with his mate, Kaoru. There just hadn't been enough time for him to do anything.
He lifted a gloved paw up to the sky as snowflakes started to fall...again. Was this the third time that a small snowstorm had brewed up or was it the fourth? He had lost track of the time since he had waltzed outside earlier that day, before the sun had rose above the mountains. Now he was paying his price for staying outside. "Might as well go inside," he muttered to himself as he stood up and shook the snow that had collected on his uniform. Glancing around to make sure that no one was around-especially Edward Elric- he carefully made his way into the main room of the Kitsu HQ and settled himself in front of the fireplace that was crackling happily with fresh wood to fuel the fire that was going in it.

Sitting in the very room that Roy Mustang had just entered, was a young kit who was a few feet in distance from the fireplace. Oddly enough, the youngster was staring at the dancing flames as the light reflected in a pair of intensely blue eyes. What was also strange is that he was clad in archaic clothes.
He was silent for the moment though. Simply looking at the older Kitsu with something akin to confusion before looking back at the fire, as if pondering life's mysteries. Although, surely that wasnt' the case, considering the kit's age.

As he stared into the fireplace, Roy had an odd feeling that he was being watched by someone. He shuddered at that thought. It could be anyone watching him-Ed, Maes, and even, to his dismay, Envy. He flicked an ear slightly. That reminded him of something-did Envy ever convert back to his non-dragon form? That was something to ponder on but not too much.
Sighing, he gazed around him to see who was watching him and saw a tiny kit staring at the fire. He titled his head slightly, wondering if this was the kitsu who had been staring at him.

The little kitsu blinked once when the older one finally noticed him. Confusion was still the dominant expression on his face. "Who are you?" he finally spoke at last, breaking the silence. He looked a little bit uncomfortable and perhaps even a bit lonely, considering he was sitting here by himself until the adult in a strange blue uniform showed up. But then... wasn't he wearing blue too? The kit looked down at himself and then back at Roy, a little frown on his maw as he realized they looked nothing alike.

Roy sat up slowly, listening to the young kit's question carefully. "I am called many names-Roy Mustang, Colonel b*****d, Flame Alchemist. You can call me Roy, though." He tilted his head slightly, gazing at the young kit's odd clothing. "And your name?"

"Roy?" the little kit asked before pausing and furrowing his brow. It had a certain familiar ring to it. Did he know this guy? No wait... "That's... my name too, I think."

"It is, is it?" Roy paused for a few seconds before letting a chuckle escape his lips. "Let me guess-you also know a kid named Edward, huh?"

The little Roy blinked and frowned a little in confusion at the question before shaking his head. "No" he stated rather matter-of-factly. He didn't know anyone named Edward... infact he couldn't remember if he even knew anybody at all? "Who is that?" he then asked of the bigger and older Roy. Still.. Roy felt like he did know someone with a name that started with "e"... he just couldn't quite recall it at the moment. Why couldn't he remember anything?

Roy Mustang's face seemed to brighten up slightly as the younger Roy said that he didn't know anyone named Edward. That made him a little bit cheery but then his face fell a little when the young kit asked who that was. "Just...someone I used to know. Wasn't sure if you had seen him...wandering around anywhere." He let a faux smile appear on his maw and he ruffled the young kit's hair with a paw gently.
