Static Thrash I've not had anything that terrible happen, but I have walked into a music store that advertised guitar lessons, and the owner didn't even know the phrygian MODE, then had the balls to tell me I was playing in the wrong key. Fix'd.

MAKQ maybe they didnt like the way played . it's funny how guitarists have such big egos... @ OP: You have to take into consideration that the poor guy would probably lose his job for letting some KID mess with a guitar that isn't even his...I would have to have the same mind set as the so called "a** hole" (inside the head of the "a** hole") -> hmm...losing my job or letting some kid I don't even know play a guitar that could cost me my job...choices...

The floor gear at GC is always scratched up and looks like S@#T. I go to GC to try out a certain item and then I'll order it online. lol
So that rule must not apply there...

When I bought my SG this guy takes it from the wall, and yeah he told me about it and everything but he started playing it for about a whole 2 minutes before I made a face. He was REALLY into it too until I scrunched my nose up and said "May I?" and he nods and hands it over but for some reason he decided to unplug it from the amp.

Maybe so...But I find it shameful for a person to say they are better than anyone else...maybe they can be more skilled at a technical level, but in all reality it is like saying apples are better than oranges... All I know is that a musician without modesty isn't worth anybody's attention...

You also have to take into consideration that he was no less of a kid than I was.
And, as I have already stated, I've played WAY more expensive guitars at that store.

(i just want to say that i think the freaking girl who works at this GC is retarded)
I live in california near seal beach (if you know were that is) and at this guitar center... there was a $4,800 in a glass case in the middle of the store. I go in and ask to play it...she says nope its really expensive. then comes this (i swear he probably was) 7 YEAR OLD who asks to play it and
(in her exact words) she said "AWWW do you want to become a guitarist (then the boy replys something like he wants to become jimmy paige) Oh (he asks to play that guitar in the case)SURE!"

OMGitsJERITH W......T...Freakin.....F!!!!!!! Kinda redundant... And I guess there's an age boundary, or something, around 11 to 16 where you are totally screwed when you try to act serious. Depending on the attendant, a 7 year old might be cute enough to get away with if a manager or something catches them, and there's also the prospect that if they're 7, they might have been forced to have lessons or have musical parents or something. Teens get a bad rep with the "Party Animal, etc." stereotypes.
