Tayma tensed as Arbalete blew up at Hazzard. This was probably a sign that the teen felt threatened; the bodyguard would have to be ready in case of trouble...
"Oh," Hazzard blinked, a bit confused. He sat, his tail between his legs. He looked down at his paws, a bit hurt by Arbalete's harsh words. "Um... I'm sorry... I didn't realize... I guess... I've had avalanches start above me, too! But... Um... That's no excuse... I... Sorry..." He frowned, for once subdued...

A'vale found that she had never met someone so... clumsy, as Hazzard. But Arbalete didn't seem to share that. It was serious to cause avalanches in these mountains after all.

Let go of your anger. Deep breaths. "I'm... sorry as well. I suppose... I suppose ill luck isn't your fault. But you're still a danger, to yourself and others. Hasn't anybody tried to teach you the conditions that best set off an avalanche? What to watch out for, what to avoid. If you're truly unlucky, I don't know how much it will help, but it's better than nothing."

"Ahm...." Hazzard pursed his lips, not meeting Arbalete's eyes. "Yeah... Someone showed me the conditions best for setting off avalanches..." They showed me so that I could set them off on purpose though, Hazzard added to himself silently. "It doesn't help. I guess... I'm just accident-prone."
He shrugged sheepishly, as if to say 'can't help it, but it's who I am...' ((OH. WOW. I NEEEEEEEEEED TO FIND HAZZARD'S EVIL MASTERMIND LEADER DRAGON. xd ))

Arbalète smiled dangerously, all of her old mistrust returned. "Interesting. Because you fell earlier, and didn't set off any avalanches. It's the wrong kind of snow." She stared at Hazzard, daring him to meet her eyes.

Hazzard shrugged. "Sometimes I fall down, and sometimes a piece of the mountain falls down," he joked, "I dunno... I guess... Yeah, I dunno." Hazzard lay down and put his head on his paws with a yawn.
"So... Is anyone else REALLY hungry?"
Changing the subject? Tayma thought to herself. Why? ... On the other hand, he does seem to be the type of dragon who would leap from topic to topic while talking...

Arbalète was tired of talking to Hazzard, all she wanted to do was go home, she wanted to see her family so bad, but she did her best to reign in her impatience. There was something big going on here, something bad.
"Starting an avalanche isn't a matter of falling," she said carefully, "it's a matter of falling in the right place. Places you're all too aware exist." She tensed slightly, wondering if he could go for her throat from that position. She was well trained in fighting, but he still had the size advantage.

Hazzard sighed, a hint of frustration revealing itself in his tone as he spoke. "Yeah. I get it. I'm a dangerous, dangerous dragon," he said with a bit of sarcasm, "can... Can we please stop talking about it, now?" Hazzard sighed again, this time sounding more sad than anything.
Now he's getting defensive, Tayma thought, a bit confused. Who is this dragon and what's he up to...

Arbalète was starting to get frustrated too. "No. You don't get it. I don't get it. You know the dangerous areas, and you're still starting avalanches. Almost as if you were starting them on purpose."

Hazzard trembled slightly, angry and a bit hurt. "Why would I do that?" he snapped, "who would start an avalanche on purpose? I try to avoid the dangerous spots, I just... I'm a klutz, okay? I... URGH. It always ends up like this... I'll just leave before I bring the whole mountain down on top of you, kay?" He walked away with a scowl, not looking back at the teen.
She had come too close to the truth. Nackta wouldn't be happy about that...
Hazzard made a decision. He wouldn't tell Nackta about the teen. It'd probably come back and bite him in the butt later on, but he wouldn't tell Nackta.
Hazzard didn't want to kill anyone else.
Tayma tensed. This was also very suspicious. Hazzard had become very defensive, he'd totally avoided answering Arbalete's insinuated question, and then... He'd just walked away?
"Can you follow him for me?" Tayma asked Wolftongue softly, "Don't hurt him... yet... Just... See where he goes, please."

Arbalète started to tremble. What had she set in motion? Hazzard had so many masks, which one was the right one? And what had she set in motion? He was dangerous, so dangerous... and he was headed away. What if he decided to set off an avalanche?
Calm down. Just-
I want to go home.
Arbalète shook her head to clear it and turned to A'vale. "I'm... I'm sorry I'm leaving so soon, and split up the group, but... well, I really need to get home. It was nice meeting you." She managed a smile, but not a very big one.

A'vale nodded a goodbye to Arbalete. "I hope that the remainder of your journey is safe," she replied, trying to ease up the tense situation. She felt a pang of sympathy for Hazzard, but could tell that something was.. unusual.. about him.

Arbalète smiled and made a slight bow. "It was a pleasure to meet you. Perhaps one day our paths shall cross again." Painfully aware that she was leaving her back exposed, Arbaléte turned and headed south at an easy walk. Nothing to show panic, or worry, or just how eager she was to go home.

Tayma frowned. Arbalete was leaving. "I have to go follow the teen," Tayma told wolftongue seriously. "We'll meet again." It wasn't a question. It was a statement. Very close to being a command. "Tell me if you find anything out about Hazzard, and whether he's a danger to anybody."
She began to walk after the teen. Then she paused and turned back. "Good luck with those hatchlings," she told him. A brief smile lit her weary face, and then she left, following Arbalete.
