Now was as good a time as any, at least, that was the thought that was currently repeating in his jumbled skull. He parted his lips as if he were about to speak and just as quickly slipped the brown paper end into his waiting lips. It was a horrible feeling, this kind of need for death to come in such a small package, but, he was addicted beyond all hope. It was practically the only thing that kept him going in stressful times.
A little bit of death on the road, as he had told his buddy Tim before, and it was true, it was slowly killing him. "What I wouldn't give for some aspirin and a nice pipping hot coffee...", he tried to say with nonchalance and some bit of sanity, or what was left of it.
He was in the here and now, not in some flashback of the past few days, not in the days when he was young. Nope, he was stuck in the present, flames licking up toward the sky, metal littering the beach along with people, and certain parts of said people. A macabre sight if ever there was one.
"...and I was only six hours away from being at that darkparty thing... surrounded by...", he stopped short as he fished the lighter out and lit the end of his cigarette. The first drag made him want to cough violently and vomit, again. After seeing that half woman, he wanted to do nothing but expel every last bit of his innards onto the sand around him. It was taking quite a bit of self control not to, and it surprised him that he was able.
Once more, his eyes wandered to the horizon, and then to the sky. There was so much smoke and fire, so many screams and cries, how could they not find them soon? Right?
That was something they would find out soon enough, or not. As soon as he had taken his second drag, he was rushing to the nearest person in distress to lend a hand in the rescue of his fellow passengers. It was all he could do to keep his mind of the idea that he could have been rend limb from limb by the screaming deathtrap that was his plane, or by the jagged rocks in the water.
Was it ever mentioned that he waws a very dark cryptic person?

"Okay. The Jungle is not dense. I am near..." Katina closed her eyes and tried to remember her survival training, and all the little tid-bit pieces of information that no one but her seemed worthy of remembering. "An ocean, a river, or quite possibly an oasis. Which means fresh water, or..." Katina looked at her cell phone and thought that a clearer shot to a satallite would possibly give her a few extra bars and then she could alert the U.S. Army of their arrival on this strange area. Her eyes gazed up to what little skyline was visible and could see the first edges of a currently lit fire, that was the direction she had to head towards.
High heels were not the best for tracking fallen planes and survivors in a jungle, but then again, Katina could not imagine that her plane was going to crash land on some island with no seeming inhabitants, and that she would survive... Her arms outstretched, seperating brush, tree, plant and any other obstruction blocking her path until finally, sky blinded her eyesight as the sun broke through the darkness she had been standing in. The plane, or better yet, what was left of it, was still scarttered about shore, and Katina wasted no time, hurriying herself towards what was left.
"God! Stupid shoes!" Katina ripped the high heels from her feet and tossed them into the sand. Her jacket came next, since she had no idea what the nights were like and decided it was best if her coat stayed dry. Her feet splashed through the water until she was waist deep in the ocean, her hands guiding her through the wreckage. "Come on!" She seemingly yelled, unaware there was anyone left to hear her. "Where are you!" There was tons of debre, but nothing that resemembled her own medical bag or even her luggage that contained her running shoes. "Oh, it would have sunk...." Katina placed a calm hand on her head, and took a deep breath and fell below the water, her eyes wide open, searching for a glint of silver which would be her medical kit. This pattern of take breath dive, repeat, went on for over ten minutes until she was able to see part of the plane locking the case between a rock and itself, as if holding it hostage.
Katina swam for it, struggling to get it free until it was in hand and ready to be used. There were other pieces of luggage, belonging to some one else, but that was not in her mind at the moment, surviving was, and she gathered as many as she could, four pieces in all, and took them to shore. Katina spent the next ten minutes of her life, searching for more luggage. They would come in handy at a later time. "Why are you doing this? They are going to come looking for you long before you will need to steal someone else's clothes..." Katina asked herself out loud, still avoiding the possibility that there were other survivors.

Robin shrugged that the blonde had gone and finished her smoked before pushing herself off the sandy shore. She had some luggage to find, she had some of her favorite shirts in that suit case and she wasn’t about to let them go down without a fight. She wandered into the jungle and started walking towards a voice yelling in the trees. Awesome another one hadn’t bit the dust, strangely enough it was hard being optimistic after having a plane fall from under your feet.
“You know…..” Robin said sitting down on the rocks near the water’s edge. “If those people at the beach catch you with their stuff it is going to get tight. Everyone is really Lord of the Flies right now. So I sure as s**t hope that is your bag. And might I just say you don’t look like a Dora the Explorer lover. Though you could totally angle that if the girl is alive you know? I did it for the girl.” She nodded. “Was there anything else down there?” Robin asked nodding to the water. “I need to get my stuff, so…” she shrugged. “Before I get mostly naked so I don’t run the risk of ruining my only clothes… are you ok because I am talking to you and you are sort of like looking pretty vacant.”

Katina looked up at the girl in wonder, there had been survivors, and though her head up them out of thought, her eyes concluded what her heart wanted to be true; to not be the only one on this horrible patch of land. Her cell phone registered, "No Network Coverage," once again, but instead of throwing it to the fishes, Katina shut it off and shoved it deep into her pockets. "Are you hurt? Are there others?" Katina took out the flashlight from her back pocket and shined it in the girl's eyes. "Were you bitten, broken any limbs eat foreign plants?" Katina went over all the lists of things that could possibly cause major problems later on down the line.
"This one belongs to that man, the one with no head, I am sure that he is not coming back from the dead just to stop me from using his things. This one is the red-headed girl with an all green outfit, but she is dead, I am sure, I saw her sucked out of the plane and into the turbine. She's not coming back..." Katina went over the others with a solomn look and placed the luggage that she did not know who belonged to it, in a neat orderly pile. "One of those might be yours, but the rest." Katina pointed out towards the deeper areas of the ocean, a great swim just to reach them.
"We are... kind of screwed if your luggage is out there, but, waste not want not." Katina opened one of the female bags and found a pair of running shoes, a pair of work-out pants, and that was all she needed from that woman. Aside from socks and the base-ball cap. Katina stripped down to her undergarments and changed into the new pieces. "If there are others, tell me where they are, I want to make sure you are all okay. I am a doctor. I... I am fine..." Katina said in response to the female's question, though she never looked up at her, primarily her thoughts were on the work that needed to be done. Her survival skills were kicking in full blast. Doctors were actually trained in this field in case an event like this were plausible. Katina knew they needed fresh water, food, some kind of shelter, the basic needs of all humans.

OOC: sorry it's so short, I'm kind of in a...rut of sorts. Doesn't help that I'm in a really crappy mood. Again, sorry. What should be their first priority? Start a fire or find water and food for the survivors? He could leave all of the others to take care of the injured and look for a source of fresh water in the jungle, and possibly some form of food. Then he could go about gathering tinder and flint to start a fire, right?
One way to find out.
He looked around at all of the other people, they were all occupied with their own stuff. He had nothing but time to do all he needed to live on.
He started off toward the dense jungle with one thought, getting away from the wreckage and gore. He slipped in between two trees and kept walking for a while. Seemed like there was nothing but tall grass and trees for miles. Though, in one area, the vegetation was a lot thicker and darker.
There had to be water somewhere near there, otherwise the plants would not have been thriving so beautifully.
