Approximately 64-page story intended for a children, where illustrations dominate the page. (In other words, not comic books/graphic novels.)
The Giving Tree is longer than that, but it's one of those books my library can't decide if it's a picture book or long enough to put with the chapter books.

Where The Wild Things Are. I've always loved that book (and even gave a copy as a Christmas gift to my Japanese pen pal's little brother).

I didn't get into reading until I was older, so I don't remember a lot of picture books besides Dr. Seuss(sp?o.o)
