Interesting, could this be your idea of the reason for all familiars and other mystical creatures? I've never heard of latches but seeing as how unheard of mystical creatures are to begin with, anyone's guess as to their origin or function is as god as my own.
Where can I learn more about these so called latches?

I suppose they are the closest thing to a witch's familiar. And I'm not sure where you could learn about them, since it's a sort of information passed on from mother to daughter that's come into my coven. I can try and find out more, if you want.

Yes, please. I've never heard of them but they sound like a very interesting solution to the whole idea of mystical creatures.
Basically all I want to know is, are latches supposed to be all the familiars and all the mystical creatures in the world? Meaning there are no faeries, there are no in sync cats, just latches? Is that what you're saying?

Latches are basically familiars, just a lot of people can't see them. But no, they aren't the only form of mythical creatures. Depending upon their strength and a whole load of other stuff, they have a form so they look like a unicorn or a cat or whatever, but they're not actually that creature. They're shapeshifters if you see what I mean. (sorry, I'm aware of how badly I'm explaining this, but I have a lot of very good excuses for my lack of coherency)

Shapeshifters, huh? Hm. I understand. You probably won't give me this explaination to this incorehency...but I will be okay with that.
Still, anything else you could tell me would be highly apreciated. I am wondering how someone can tell what is a latch and what is not? would you merely have to go by the chance of having a friend with you who can't see them and ask them if they see that creature over yonder and if they don't then it's latch (or a hillucination)? XD
I am personally curious to learn more about Sylphs if anyone could help me.

Well, if you really want to know why I was so incoherent, it's because I fractured my jaw on Friday, and so I've been on weird painkillers and antibiotics for the past few days which are not helpful, also I was very tired that night.
I'm not sure how to explain, but if you have a latch, you just know. You can feel it like standing behind you, or brushing against you, and then you get this rush of love coming to you and suddenly the world seems a little brighter and a little better. If you've never had one, then it's hard to understand. It's not so much seeing the latch, but feeling it there by your side.
