Cindy giggled brushing away a loose strand of hair from Rhea's face, "I never said you'd do so on purpose. I know you've been working very hard on control, and while you did fine with my Mother, I don't know what Gaian magic might do with you. The last part of about butterflies I'm utterly serious with, Lin, and you've I think met her at least once, can't control that at all." "Well, she's been working on it, I think it improves as she grows, which makes sense in an odd way," Triton replied.

Rhea blinked at Triton and Cindy, confused now. "Butterflies?" she repeated, tilting her head slightly. "What about butterflies?"
She tried to think back. She had felt something ... butterfly-ish about the human girl she had met, but she hadn't been able to put her finger on it, just as she had not been able to figure out what the barrier magic from Caranthir was until it had been explained to her.

"Lin's gift, as it were is that she hears voices from butterflies," Cindy explained, "Apparently when a butterfly is near they pick up voices of other people, unfortunately a side effect of her gift is that they are attracted to her, so they kind of swarm her with their voices until she listens to them. She's been slowly getting them to at least stop swarming her with varying degrees of success. It was near winter and very early spring the last time you saw her, so you probably wouldn't have noticed that aspect of her."
Cindy giggled remembering how Lin finally just gave up and let butterflies be a part of her person. Which spawned butterfly themed clothes, and the like.

"Oh." Rhea giggled softly, a light blush spreading across her cheeks. "So that's why the butterflies wouldn't leave me alone that summer."
She hadn't had much contact with Lin at all, but she had of course been around her a little bit, or near her, so that would explain a lot.

Triton raised a brow at that, it certainly said something to how long things stayed with Rhea. To have two seasons past and then her attracting the critters she must have taken it in and kept it.
Cindy mused, trying to think back on her first year of teaching. That had happened, but she supposed being around Lin she hadn't thought anything strange of it.
"I'm surprised I didn't question it before, did you hear anything that summer?" Cindy inquired of Rhea.

Rhea shrugged. "I always hear things from the animals," she replied softly. "Just like Uncle Amdir and Adonijah do. I didn't know anything was different about the butterflies ... except that they were really bothering me that one summer."
She smiled faintly. "But they didn't come back the next summer, not the same way. That made me happy."

Cindy had forgot about that too, it made sense since she lived close to those two that she would take in their gifts as well....
"Well I guess since Lin isn't around that often, it makes sense it wouldn't last long, but to last long enough for them to bother you in the summer, because it was right during winter you last saw her... it's something interesting to consider..."
She chuckled a bit.
"Yes, I think that is a good thing too."

Throughout the entire exchange, Aerin was staring at Caranthir, and now Caranthir smiled at the others and rose from his seat.
"Excuse us," he said, bowing slightly. "We need to rest. We will find you tomorrow again."
And without any further warning, he and Aerin headed off towards the rooms for the guests.

"See you tomorrow," Cindy replied waving.
She watched as the two departed before looking back at her brother. Well... this should be interesting she thought. With those two around Haven, she looked forward to more visits there.
