XCW Hall of Famer Back On Top of Her Division Backlash opened in a big way, as the always fan favorite cruiser divison was on display, seeking to crown a new champion. It was a five way elimination match, with the last two competing in a ladder match to determine the new champion. The pioneer of the Cruiser Division, Janelle Damone, stepped out of retirement to make a return alongside her brother Brandon Damone as well as AJ Styles, the new addition to the roster, Sliv, and Christina Parks. Unquestionably the Damones were the highlights of the match, as the two quickly put family squabbles aside to eliminate the competition and limit it down to just the two Unholy Alliance members. The siblings took to the sky early, and worked over each of their opponents. Sliv was the first to be eliminated, as he found himself caught in Brandon's deadly Triangle Choke submission finisher while Janelle locked in an ankle lock. with nowhere to go, he had no choice but to tap out. Janelle targeted Christina next, but AJ Styles was not to be ignored. Unfortunately for him, he got caught in a superkick as he springboarded in for a flying forearm, then locked in a Brandon's Triangle choke and forced to tap out. Christina was next, as Brandon nailed her with the reverse Impaler DDT, and Janelle capped it off with a moonsault. And then there were two. The time for technical wrestling was done, as it was now a ladder match to determine the champion. The two younger Damone siblings took to the skies almost immediately, with Janelle holding her own against her brother. Tables were brought out and stacked, and the ladder came into play. When Brandon looked for the win early on, Janelle springboarded onto the ladder to halt his title aspirations. Brandon managed to hit a sunset flip powerbomb off the top of the ladder, which he thought had taken his sister out. But as he regained his composure and climbed to the top of the ladder again, Janelle nailed him with a steel chair and then, in the highlight of the match, a hurricarana off the top of the ladder to the outside and through the stacked tables. This gave Janelle more than enough time to retrieve the championship and become the record breaking 3 time Cruiser champion.

Rivalry Continues The rivalry between Zarel Damone and Cartwright has continued in the new days of XCW, with fans decisively siding with Zarel. Die hard fans remembered that Cartwright turned on Zarel shortly before the closing of the federation, costing them the tag team titles in a match against the brothers of destruction. Zarel in turn demolished Cartwright just after he won the Intercontinental championship from Kane. But before they could square off at Backlash as originally planned, XCW was closed. But with the reopening of the federation, Zarel reminded Cartwright that their score was far from settled as he cost Cartwright a victory against Marxx. Cartwright responded in kind by costing Zarel a victory against Robert Orman, and then attacking him after the match. He received a surprise when Zarel fought back and double chokeslammed both men. But then it was time for a face off at Backlash. Zarel teamed up with Marxx, the man he'd helped to defeat Cartwright while Cartwright teamed with Robert Orman, the man he'd helped to defeat Zarel. The match was a brawl from teh start, with Zarel immediately going after Cartwright. The Talented One got a very talented beating from the opening bell and through most of the match, as Zarel put his brawling skills to use from the start. Once Zarel took Cartwright and Robert down on the outside, Marxx decided it was time to fly and took them both down again. Never to be outdone, Zarel tossed Robert out into the crowd while Marxx got Cartwright back in the ring. Eventually the match turned in the favor of Cartwright and Robert, as Robert and Zarel became the legal men and Cartwright capitalized on Zarel's attempt to pin Robert with his signature leg drop from the top rope across the back of Zarel's neck. After a short double team, Marxx got around the referee and took Cartwright out of the picture. Zarel got the chance to fight back and took it. Zarel and Marxx, showing surprisingly good potential as a team, each nailed their finishing manuevers and covered their opponents simultaneously to win the bout. But the feud is far from over. Zarel: I'm not finished with Cartwright. Not by a long shot. He has several crimes to pay for and I intend to take my payment in blood. Its about time for him to find out who the real 'Talented one' is around here. Tuesday Night on Impact, I'm going to dismantle him. I'm going to beat him and batter him and leave him a bloody shell of a man. And that's just the beginning. Believe me, Carty, this ain't over until I say it's over.

New Intercontinental champion: Big Red Machine Returns Former XCW Intercontinental champions collided at Backlash to decide the vacated championship. Former champion, Draze, who had left XCW years ago due to personal issues, met one of the more recent champions, Jed, who had lost the title to Kane in a brutal ambulance match at Wrestlemania. With Kane retired, and the last champion, Cartwright, involved in a tag match already, Jed was the next best choice to decide the championship. Draze was a bit of a surprise, but it seems the chairman decided to give him a chance based off the fact that he was a former champion, a former member of the Ministry of Darkness that ran rampant throughout XCW, and that there was no one else. Draze didn't disappoint either, as he dominated most of the match. Jed however, is never to be counted out, as he showed countless times while battling the Big Red Machine, Kane, who had been taken out prior to XCW's closing by Through The Pain with a broken arm. As such, Kane was not immediately resigned upon XCW's reopening. Jed came back towards the end of the match, defeating Draze with a JKO almost out of nowhere to claim the Intercontinental championship for the second time. His victory would not exactly be celebrated, as an old foe returned to bring a little hell, fire, and brimstone back to XCW. That's right, Kane is back, and his arm is fully healed, as he showed with the complete domination of both Jed and Draze. The Big Red Machine easily took Jed out with a chokeslam and gave Draze a Tombstone Piledriver, then stood with the intercontinental championship belt raised over his head. He threw it back on Draze, but made it clear that he wants the championship back. As for why he chose to attack Draze and Jed, no one can really ever tell why Kane does what he does. And frankly, we don't much like approaching him to ask. All things should be revealed in time.

Television Champion Decided The television championship is definitely the most contested championship in XCW today. Since the unification with XCW's Hardcore championship, the television championship has been contested under 24/7 rules. The television championship has been teh center of many great matches and feuds, most notably the ring of hell match with Travis and Cartwright in which Cartwright suffered serious burns after being put through a flaming table. This championship has been held by many of the greats, including hall of famer Shawn Michaels, the Rock, Cartwright, Vincent Sanctuary, Adam Mastrocola, and most recently Rhamm. When XCW closed and was reopened, all championships were vacated, meaning perhaps the most dominant XCW Television champion in history lost his championship without ever being beaten. Understandably, when he resigned, Jarel gave him a shot to regain his championship, but he certainly didn't make it easy. To win back the gold, Rhamm had to take on two men, Harli and Shayne, who have seemingly begun a very heated rivalry with each other following the ending of their last match on Impact in which they fought to a draw and continued to brawl until being seperated. Rhamm was caught in the center of what was sure to be a war between rivals, and the first man to gain a pinfall would win the gold. The match started off xtreme, with all 3 men grabbing weapons and going after each other. In the end, it was Rhamm who stood tall with the television champioship in hand. The question is, will he establish another dominant reign as Television champion, or will someone capitalize on the 24/7 rules of the championship

New XCW Undisputed Champion Going into Backlash, Christian Cage knew he was in for a fight. He new that he was stepping inside possibly the most dangerous match in the business right now, Pandora's Box. This match was created by two legends, XCW Hall of Famer the Maverick and XCW Chairman, Jarel Drako Damone. Jarel first competed in this match with the Maverick in WWCW, and would go on to settle his 7 year feud with Kane inside this structure as well. He also defeated Kurt Angle in this match as well as the monstrous Vincent Sanctuary. He also brought it here to XCW to put the final nail in the coffin of WWCW, when he trapped Cartwright in this hellacious structure with the monstrous Poison. Poison was right at home in this environment, dismantling Cartwright and putting an end to WWCW's invasion. And now he brought it back The Chairman wanted a decisive finish. No interference, no tricks. He wanted an all out war between two top competitors that would end with a definite champion. He wanted a war and he got one. Christian Cage, the Instant Classic and the last WWCW World Heavyweight champion, stepped inside the Dragon's creation against the man that ended the WWCW franchise, Poison. From the start, this match was brutal. Poison attempted to overpower Cage early on but Cage proved to be as crafty as ever, managing to get out on top of the Box first and using his specialty, the ladder, to gain an early advantage. Poison would of course fight back, even after being speared off the ladder. Once these two got back down to the ring, Cage going down courtesy of a kick from Poison, the war truly began. We saw the use of chairs, barbed wire bats, sledgehammers, Poison's pitchfork, a ladder, a crowbar, a barbed wire board, and a table. In the end, Cage's own specialty and favorite weapons, the ladder and the table, were his undoing. One Komodo slam from the top of the ladder and throw the table ended a bloody and brutal contest, with Poison emerging as the victor
