I've thought about getting my cheeks pierced before, and I'm still playing around with the idea.
I know it might seem like a waste of money, but if you really want to get it done, just do it, and see how it looks after they've healed. If you don't like them, remove them, if you do, well then it wasn't a waste of money! XD

Oh ya they actually give you permanent dimples? I hadnt thought about that. I think that would look pretty cool.

Im a narcissist and love talking about mine. =x
From what I can tell, I think they'd look good.
I think they always look better on people with smaller, rounder faces.
Like not oval or oblong.
