Nica, still reeling from the attack, carefully picks up another tomato and the piece of bone. She gives the tomato a thoughtful look before turning her attention to it, trying to encourage the seeds to get long, spikey, and above all, sharp.
Caltrops. Caltrops would be really nice. Then maybe I can go lay down until everything stops hurting so bad...
As she looks up she tries to catch Trivicus' eye, knowing that she can't even hope to leap out at the thing by herself. She was almost done for and she knew it.
Probably have one shot, maybe, then I have to heal.
Moving to put something between herself and the nasty special running around she begins to ready herself to throw the hopefully modified tomato.

Nica caught Trivicus by the edge of his vision, and it didn't take a lot of thought for Trivicus to see she was injured badly. He was cowering back at the doorway while the rest of the gang was up there getting mauled... Of course, it was the smart thing to do, since he had a gun and all, but with all the attention on the gang and Trivicus taking potshots by the sidelines, it was little wonder they were taking all the damage.
Trivicus still felt alright, but he wasn't about to offer himself up as a bloody meatshield. He looked for the largest nearby potlid he could find, and ran over to it. It was heavy, and he had to holster his pistol to free both his hands, but he hoisted it up and got in front of Nica, preparing himself to deflect the next surprise the special had in mind. Hopefully, Trivicus's experience in marksmanship would grant him the reflexes to block the special's next attack. Otherwise, at least it would be Trivicus's injury and not Nica's martyrdom.
Trivicus held the shield anxiously, waiting to use it in a moment's notice.
((I'm assuming this kitchen has potlids in it, if that's fine.))

Kit looked over and saw a man move to cover one of the defenders. Moving quickly she eats one of her vitamin C tablets to try to heal herself before her injuries overtake her.
That done she takes cover and begins to charge her hammer. If the others could handle one more attack she would be free to really beat the snot out of this mucky thing.
I am sooo going to crush this like the mutated chicken monster that it is.

((Hi. Sorry I haven't talked to you guys in two weeks. I'm not giving up on V.S. or anything, but this month is my big preparation for the SAT and AP US History tests. Thus, Vaughan Smythe will pause until 5-9-09. Sorry for the inconvenience, especially since I've heard little but positive feedback regarding the RP, and I have no doubts that it will grow readily over the summer. But I just don't have time now. sad
