That she would go somewhere only she knew and commit suicide. POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOLLOWING Actually, the guy who works at the comic book shop came up with an interesting theory. Okay, so... what if she had already legaly changed her last name to Penber, but didn't tell Raito? Then when he's all "I'm Kira", she probably started thinking. "Oh, crap, he probably tried to get me to kill myself or something, I should play along." He also thinks that she'll show up later on in the manga and exact revenge on Kira. Personally, I doubt it'll happen, but hey, you never know. It would be a neat twist. Not likely at all. At that time, she didnt know about the death note. It would just be way to weird for her to have totally guessed the situation on the dot, right out of nowhere. Also now let's remember about Aizawa. He saw Light and that woman walking together in front of the police station. There was even a frame showing that directly. Ever since that happened I've been thinking it'll come into play later on. I was surprised when it didn't will L... but now I think it just might if Aizawa just remembers about it all.
Then again, that could of been forgotten foreshadowing. SHHHHH...... it....... i forgot about that... Its probably forgotten forshadowing. When i first saw it i was freaking out shouting "OH s**t HE SAW IT!" etc. Pardon the french. It was a quote >.> But yeah... if he hasnt remembered by now he probably wont. Aizawa doesn't know that that piece of paper is from the Deathnote. He may just have thought that Raito was innocently copying things down. And since when did normal people notice AND REMEMBER other seemingly normal people they pass by on the streets?

The Missing Puzzle Piece Aizawa doesn't know that that piece of paper is from the Deathnote. He may just have thought that Raito was innocently copying things down. And since when did normal people notice AND REMEMBER other seemingly normal people they pass by on the streets? No one ever said he knew it was a piece of a Death Note. I didn't even mentioning him seeing Light copying things down. Just that he saw them together.
I'm sure Aizawa wouldn't have noticed Penber's fiance but he should have noticed Light. I just wanted to make the point he could of seen them together.
I know it won't have any effect now more then likely, especially since L had looked into her death and Aizawa never said anything about it then.

You are probably right though. Showing how close Light came without even realizing it.

You are probably right though. Showing how close Light came without even realizing it. But I kinda want that panel to come into play later in the series.
