And so, she recieved the answer she had so expected. She didn't know why she had asked, but she had done it just the same. The other's amusement irritated her just a bit, but her words softened the feeling. She knew things she did not - it was like an inside joke among the gods, she supposed.
The things was, she didn't think she needed anybody's acceptance - she asked really out of politeness. And because... she didn't know what else to do. She didn't have anything else in this world, and this would likely be the only guidance she would get before she was thrown out to wander.
Still, her words... They couldn't help but spark something inside of her, curiousity. An overwhelming one about what this world that she had entered held. She was a blank slate who knew nothing, but she felt she would soon discover bit by bit all the good and evil that there was. Good. Evil. Words, concepts that didn't seem to mean anything to her.
"I feel I have already begun my story."

Carmenta smiled at the child-- no, young woman really-- in front of her.
"Good. This is where it all starts, child. I take it you wish to continue down Adbhuta? Speak now, or you are bound. Now, what is it you want from this world, child? Tell me."

It was nice to see the woman smile, but she her gut wrench. Speak now, or you are bound. She knew already that whatever choice she would make would be irreversible, but hearing it made her helpless for just a moment. She opened her mouth, feeling a lifetime flashing before her - what the other paths could have yielded. No. She had chosen this one. It was right for her. She knew that much.
"I want to know why the world is the way it is. And why I am here."

Another smile graced those ruby lips, sliding away as quickly as it had come. There was that wonder she had been looking for. Carmenta's thin, plae hands withdrew from the sea of red silk that floated aroung the goddess and twisted around a faint glow that began to grow in intensity before flickering and going out suddenly. Carmenta lazily held out a finger to the girl, looped around which were two thin, intertwined blue and green ribbons. A key hung to the ends of the ribbon, bound by the small loop at the top. The key was an understated shade of orange, and its shaft was bound by the same ribbons that suspended it upon the goddess's finger.
"Come on, take it. It is yours, after all."

[Damn. Why couldn't I have simple minded girl who didn't want the answer to a hard question. xD And she kind of asked two seperate questions. If either is answered, is that enough to buy it off? ]
Aletheia stood puzzled, swearing she saw a smile on the goddess' lips. Perhaps it was merely her imagination. It seemed like everything was a... she didn't know what to call it. Not... real. But she didn't really know what real was. Perhaps all this was normal? Her hand gently approached the key, finally taking it and putting it around her neck - the key seemed to right over her heart. She took a shallow breath, thinking of the task before her. She would discover the world and herself... And learn of all its cruelties and pleasures. She touched the key, as if checking that it was still there. She looked up at the goddess, her light blue eyes seemingly darkening - a trick of the light, most likely. She was silent, but this time it was because she didn't have words.

And then, in an instant, Carmenta was gone, no trace of her presence remaining in the roon save for the key that now hung around Aletheia's neck. Shakuni was coughing lightly as she got up, and put a hand against the cool wall of the room to steady herself. She wished for once she could remember what exactly went on between the Gods and the Tabula. It was such an intriguing mystery.
"Well, you are done here now. You may leave."
