It's amazing how much information is on the uniform, isn't it? xd Especially to those of us who know a fair bit about the Army, be it from having military parents, having been in (or trying to join) ourselves, or even from a simple study of insignia. BTW, I tried to get in at 18, wanted to go career Airborne, intending to be in the 82nd Airborne Division. However, I was turned away as 4-F. I tried though, which is more than most people these days can say. (my apologies to those who have heard me say that a bilion times already)

Were you turned away for Airborne, or in general? (answer carefully, my Straight-Leg Pride speech may kick in depending on the answer)

pimpkilla2 sorry to hear that man im probably going into the reserves or soemthing, but whats 4-f As a proud reservist, I must ask you to fully evaluate what you want out of the military and what it will ask of you before you choose the reserve. To date, I still feel that my biggest mistake thus far is choosing the Reserve over Active Duty. I have no less than 3 active duty order since I have enlisted, and had just as many semester of my school interrupted. I wouldn've minded if the reserve took care of me, but they didn't Through various lazy bastards that work at my reserve units office, they've managed to lose my language score 3 times (which entitled me to a monthly bonus), lost my travel voucher payment to my government travel card account, and lost the notification from the credit card issuer. I currently owed 4.5k in debt to the credit card company which is deducted from my current paycheck, the DFAS never got my travel voucher so I will never get my money back, and my paycheck is $200 short per month since my language scores were never registered. And these are just some of the larger items, there are many more (illegal mobilization orders, forgetting to count my drill weekends, refusal to promote me since I spent more active duty time than reserve time as a reservist, etc etc) My financial a*****e is almost the size of watermellonn because of what the reserve had done to me, and my apologies for the graphic description. So add this to your consideration: Reserve personnel office are full of shitheads that will ******** you every chance they get. I'm not telling you not to serve... my enlistment was the best thing that has happened to me, just asking you to think hard before making your final decision.

Oh damn, we actually have soldiers in Iraq on Gaia, and in LRG to boot! WOOOHAH! xd (You have "hooah," the Marines have "oorah," I have "woohah." xp ) Here's me, earlier today, holding the poster with Staff Sergeant Ryan, who also signed it: The writing in the upper left is: Quote: EDWARD, SEMPER FI ... OORAH! LCPL BAFFA, USMC and to its lower right is: Quote: To Edward, Semper Fi, SSGT Ryan, [autograph], U.S.M.C. That's an LAV-25 (Light Armored Vehicle) behind us, taken at the Intrepid Museum. smile

I wish I still had my image readily available....hmm, how do I describe myself until I get my piccie up. Ah...think Tom Messereau (Michael Jackson's attourney) with brown hair, and between homely and comely. xp
