{ Edward Avery Worthington } Nicknames : Ed or Eddie, though he prefers Ed. Age : 14 Date of Birth : March 3, 2008 Nationality : He was born and raised in American. Ethnicity : His ancestors, on both sides, originally came from England then moved to America. Edward still has the slightest hint of a British accent though.
. . . Appearance : Skin : A creamy pale shade Hair : He keeps his black hair cut short. His bangs are long enough that they hang down in his eyes, which tends to bother his when he's working so he keeps them held back with hair pins or barrettes. Even if they look girly, he doesn't care so long as they keep his bangs out of his eyes. Eyes : Brown Height : 5'4" Weight : 126 lbs. Clothes : Edward never liked fancy clothes, preferring a more casual look. He can usually be seen wearing a dark navy blue sports jacket with white stripes down the sleeves, given to him by his brother. Under that, he wears plain T-shirts, rarely any with designs on them. The pants he likes range from normal blue jeans to plaid pants held up by a thick black belt. He wears tennis shoes a lot, except in the winter when it snows, he wears boots.
Likes and Hobbies : His favorite season is fall. He loves watching the leaves change color. He enjoys listening to all varieties of music for inspiration. He loves learning about new things and reads up on as much as he can. He loves animals. He enjoys playing sports, mainly soccer and basketball. He is absolutely terrible at them, but he doesn't care since he just has fun playing them and getting some exercise. He likes going on jogs and walks.
Personality : Edward can sometimes be a bit of a quiet boy. But once he made friends with someone, he really opens up to them. When he's not busying himself with sculpting, he enjoys being outside the most, except in winter. He's not very fond of the cold weather. When it comes to sculpting, Edward hates to be bothered and become rather grumpy when disturbed. He has a bad habit about chewing on his nails whenever he's thinking about a new sculpting project. At those times, he often becomes completely oblivious to the world around him.
Talents : Edward is very skilled at sculpting, primarily with clay. He can be a perfectionist when it comes to his work and hates leaving things as is when he knows he can make the sculpture better. While his primary use in sculpting is clay, Edward doesn't believe in limiting himself to just that. He's tried other mediums for sculpting but finds he works best with clay.

{ history } On March 3, 2008, Natalie Worthington gave birth to her second son, Edward. Edward grew up in a loving environment, though his father Abraham could be quite stern at times. Abraham believed it important to impose a good education upon his children. His oldest son, Nickolas, was always a studious child. But Edward hated studying when he was little and often tried to sneak away from lessons. He never understood why he needed to know things like math and history, finding them boring. This usually led to Abraham growing annoyed at his youngest son.
Abraham always tried to plan out the best course of life for his children. While Nickolas always did as father ordered, when he reached the age of sixteen, he entered a rebelious stage. He kept up with his studies, but he wanted to pursue a different course of life than the one that Abraham had planned out for him. Nickolas and Abraham started butting heads, which led to many arguments. Edward hated listening to those arguments and would hide out in his room whenever they started. As a coping mechanism, Edward created an imaginary friend to play with and forget about the fighting. This imaginary friend, named Bo, took the shape of a fox. Natalie saw no reason to discourage Edward from having an imaginary friend, but Abraham thought it unbecoming of a boy. Edward grew out of that stage two years later when Bo mysteriously disappeared. At that point, the arguments between Nickolas and Abraham had ceased, the two men finding a compromise to settle their difference of opinions.
Natalie alwayed enjoyed pottery, though everything she made usually collapsed in on itself. After things quieted down in their home, Edward sometimes spent time in his mother's art room to watch her shape clay into cups and bowls. Edward would sometimes take a clump of the clay and play with it as he talked with his mother. At the start, he would just squish it between his hands. But after a few months, he focused more on molding it into a shape. His first few attempts failed to look like anything more than oddly shaped lumps. After about year of trying, he finally get it to resemble something recognizable. The first thing he made (that he liked how it turned out) was a little fox statue in memory of Bo. He keeps the statue on a shelf over the desk in his bedroom. After seeing Edward's talent, Natalie started educating Edward in art history. Edward enjoyed the things his mother taught him and took interest in learning about other things as well. Though he had a new interest in learning, Edward continued to sneak out of the lessons his father tried to teach him. While his mother made learning fun, his father's lessons bored Edward. This displeased Abraham, but he didn't want to get into a shouting match like he had with Nickolas. Eventually, Abraham decided to give up and leave Natalie to teaching their youngest son.
When Edward turned twelve, Nickolas moved out of their house to live on his own. Before departing, Nickolas gave his brother a navy blue sports jacket which Edward wears almost all of the time.

{ rp sample } Edward pushed and pulled at the chunk of clay in his hands. He hadn't fully thought out what he would do for his current project, instead letting his hands work on their own as he pondered over the possibilities.
His concentration broke suddenly when he heard the creak of the door. He lifted his gaze from the clay and stared at the doorway where he spotted his brother sticking his head into the room. Regardless of being happy to see his brother, Edward glared at him, annoyed at the interruption. When he looked down at his work, he grew even more annoyed. In the moment of distraction, he had completely messed up the shape of his creation. Even without knowing what he was molding, he could tell it was ruined.
"You know not to coming in here when I'm working," Edward grumbled as he mashed up the clay chunk.
Nickolas sighed as he entered the room. "You haven't changed," he said with a shake of his head.
Edward responded with a glare. Standing, he dumped the useless chunk of clay into the waste bin. "Why did you come over here?" he asked and accepted the towel that his brother offered him. He cleaned his hands as best he could, but dry clay clung to his skin. He would need a good scrubbing to get rid of it all.
"A bit of family business," Nickolas answered. He clapped a hand on his brother's shoulder. "Father wants to hold a family meeting." Nickolas guided them out of the room and down the hallway.
Edward felt a dark cloud grow overhead. The last time they had a major family meeting, it ended with his father and brother arguing day and night. He didn't wish the experience that again.
When they entered the study, they saw their father and mother waiting for them. Their father wore a frown on his face, the deep wrinkles adding to his unhappy expression. Their mother stared at the men in her family with worry and concern. The atmosphere in the room made Edward's skin prickle. He wonder what serious discussion his family wanted to have this time.
Natalie's expression changed suddenly as she sent an icy look to her husband. "Whatever is decided, I don't want another shouting match happening in this family." She had hated the arguing as much Edward had.
Edward glanced warily at each member of his family. "What exactly is this about?" He shifted his weight, feeling tense under the heaviness of the atmosphere.
Drumming his fingers on the arm of his chair, Abraham remained silent as Nickolas passed an envelop to his brother. Edward turned the letter over in his hand then looked at his family.
"What is this?" he asked, still baffled by the situation.
"You brother took the liberty of sending in an application for you to that school," Abraham explained, and it was clear that he didn't approve of it.
"And that," Nickolas said, pointing at the envelop, "is your acceptance letter."
Edward stared around at his family again. His brain tried to keep up with what he was being told, but for some reason, it apparently wanted to process everything at an infuriatingly slow pace. He blinked, trying to figure out what he should say in response.
"I don't approve of this," Abraham stated in opinion bluntly. "Going around behind all backs and sending in an application to that Shinkami School."
"You're just mad because it isn't the path you chose for him," Nickolas argued, scowling at his father.
"No arguing," Natalie shouted, giving them such an icy glare that Edward swore he felt a chill crawl up his spine.
"I wasn't finished," Abraham muttered, unable to meet his wife's gaze. "As I was going to say, before I was interrupted," he shot a look at Nickolas, "I don't approve of it. But I'll leave the decision up to Edward." He folded his arms in a huff as he leaned back in his chair.
Nickolas had the hint of a smug smirk on his face. Then he turned to his brother, placing a hand on Edward's shoulder. "What do you think? Do you want to go to Shinkami School of Saviors?"
Edward swallowed as he kept his gaze trained on the envelop in his hands. It was a great opportunity for him. But a nervousness buzzed in his veins. He got accepted, but what if he didn't meet the expectations they demanded of him. It would be a great disappointment if he couldn't meet their standards.
Edward chewed on his lower lip. He couldn't ignore the little part of him that was actually scared. It would be the first time he lived away from his family. He knew it was probably a little silly, but he couldn't ignore that little tickling of fear.
But despite the nervousness and worry and fear, Edward knew he couldn't pass up the opportunity. If he didn't go, he would regret it for the rest of his life.
"I'll go." Definite. It left no room for argument. Abraham looked displeased with his son's decision, but he kept to his word and didn't protest the decision. His family had left it all up to him. Edward felt nervous butterflies fluttering in his stomach, but he also felt excitement about attending the school.
