.50 S&W Magnum The .50 Caliber S&W Magnum is a hollow point 12.7mm x 55mm 500 grain bullet capable of killing a bear in one shot if it hits it anywhere in the torso or head area, from 200 yards away. The hollow point, though making it less capable of piercing body armor, fragments and spreads apart easier upon impact, meaning that when it comes in contact with flesh it literally explodes and expands to rip out more flesh. With a caliber of this size, and with it's force, it is a near explosion and possibly capable of tearing through light armor, though it is designed not to and to fall apart, slow down, and expand upon impact. The round produces roughly 2900 ft·lbf of energy, with the next highest being roughly 1900 ft·lbf of energy, with the .454 casul. Each round is roughly 1.6 ounces each, and 10 rounds are close to a pound in weight. The recoil produces from the round is extremely excessive, enough to cause kickback in a 5 pound gun, and requires a lot of weight and recoil absorbence for the gun to be able to fire the bullet without falling apart. Extra Modifications The extra weight of the gun and the extended barrel length is used to control the round and reduce the recoil from the bullet affecting the general capability of steadying the gun and keeping it in one direction. As well, the gun has nearly 3 inches of recoil absorbence material and shocks added, to lower not only the recoil of the bullet but to keep the gun steady. The gun is capable of emptying a magazine without budging and can hit the same general area of a target within as fast the operator can pull the trigger, and is not limited to the recoil from the bullet. However, the gun is extraordinarily large and heavy, making it cumbersome and difficult to conceal, as well as hard to steady if one does not have proper training or the ability to maintain the gun, however the recoil is close to nothing and the sound is reduced by integrated sound reduction material on the outside of the barrel, though the sound can be even more reduced with a silencer, though the silencer severely reduces performance and makes the gun much longer, heavier, and less effective.
