Two rich blue eyes glittered merrily in the afternoon sun that bathed the quaint Elderspark shop in its golden radiance. Brows furrowed in concentration and effort as the little creature said eyes belonged to scaled the large grey bolder which sat a little ways in front of the old shop and was nestled into the small hillside the building sat on. With careful precision and footing he managed to haphazardly hop from the base of the big rock to the very top. With all his agile springing you'd think he was part mountain goat but no, that was not quite the case. He was just careless even though one slip could cause him to go tumbling down to the bottom, which would probably hurt quite a lot.
Placing his small hands on his hips, he beamed around at an invisible audience that only he could see. Sweeping his left hand out in front of him it came to a rest proudly on his chest as he gave an arrogant smirk. "No mountain is too big for Dakota the Great," He exclaimed to the air, closing his eyes to revel in his own little world for a moment. This wasn't an unusual sight for anyone who knew Dakota - he loved doing risky things, taking chances, and in the end - gloating { his favorite part }. But only he, perhaps, really thought himself to be so 'amazing' for merely climbing a big rock. If only there was someone around to notice him!
That was always his problem - his lack of friends always brought him down. But that is why he found himself at the Elderspark shop in the first place. His owner told him that other frequently visited this place and therefore he would probably make a friend or five. Considering his 'million-dollar personality' that wouldn't be too hard...or so he told himself. So until someone showed up he'd keep himself amused.

And wouldn't it be Dakota's luck that he did have an audience. A lazy self absorbed individual who took to finding private places to laze about. The fact that he was being interrupted wasn't what annoyed him the most, it was the fact that the sun he so loved to bath in was momentarily blocked by the flashy Pala. "It is quite rude to disturb someone while they relax, is it no?" The silky baritone voice cracked the silence dancing around the other with a soft caress.
The sound of fabric rustles softly as Cathexis sat up, situating his fine cloth comfortably along his shoulders. Flapping parrot like wings in unison of a casual stretch he stood to his feet taking a few steps to present himself in all his fine glory to the other. "What are you doing?" He asked, looking around for whomever the Pala had been talking too. Seeing no one his grey-blue eyes searched the Pala carefully. "Do you always speak to an imaginary gathering? They say one's mind is disturbed if they talk to themselves in such a fashion." Eyes sparkled as he thought a moment placing a delicately hand under his chin smirking lightly as his eyes roved over the individual approvingly. Soon he dismissed his prior thoughts and moved away to take up lounging as he had been doing before, one leg crossed over the other his form seated in a makeshift throne of rock and pebble.

So lost in his own little antics was Dakota that he hardly noticed the velveteen voice coming from somewhere below, but took a moment to really scan the area around him because that voice surely hadn't come from the depths of his own mind. With his brow furrowed his small hand found his chin which he gave a scratch before his eyes came across a golden form who was slowly sitting up. The voice he heard had clearly been male but this pala before him definitely looked female. "Whoa, if I didn't know any better I'd think you were a chick." He marveled out loud in all sincerity, quirking a brow curiously and continuing to scrutinize the bizarre pala. His fine garb and numerous rings were all good and whatnot but Dakota would've preferred his seashell and black bead accessories anyday.
He'd made them himself in fact. This strange she-dude pala also had two sets of wings which Dakota found himself looking at in something resembling astonishment. At his question { again Dakota couldn't help but think the stranger was a male trapped in a female's body }, Dakota 'harumphed' and stuck out his chest a bit. "Just passin' the time doing some feats." He had been about to cheerfully invite this strange fellow to watch before he was cut off by an incredibly rude remark. The black and white pala scowled at Cathexis, placing his hands on his hips. "Maybe I do. Shut up!" He barked non too eloquently, snorting loudly and giving an annoyed little hop atop his 'mountain' loft.
Why did he have to run into some guy? He would've much rather have been shmoozing up a pretty lady right about then. But beggars couldn't be choosers. He wasn't dumb per se, usually he knew when he was being made fun of, and this guy was already pushing his buttons. But seeing as he was the only one around, and Dakota had been there first { or so he told himself }, he was not about to back down and go away. This guy looked, sounded, and acted as arrogant as they come and even Dakota could see that. "So, might thou grace me with thyst name?" He raised a hand to his chest and gave a sigh as if Cathexis was the best thing to have ever happened to him. He might as well've known his name before continuing this conversation.
