The Head Coach Carosel continues today, starting with the Detroit Lions ending their new Head Coach search by hiring Tennessee Titans Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz. Schwartz who in the last two seasons led the Titans Defense as one of the top defensive units in the league took on the challenge of turning the Detroit Lions, the NFL's first 0-16 team around.
Also today, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fired Head Coach John Gruden. Gruden who took over the team back in 2003 led them to a Superbowl championship his first season with the team but since then has been in an up and down trend. Even though he finished this season with a 9-7 record, and the teams first back to back winning seasons since Gruden arrived, they failed to reach the playoffs after leading their division with a 9-3 record and dropping their final 4 games.
In other news, the Jets are still undecisive on who will replace Eric Mangini, the St. Louis Rams announced that Jim Hasslett, the teams interm coach for half the season is not in the running for the teams vacant spot, and the Kansas City Chiefs are evaluating Herm Edwards, and are expected to make a decision soon as to whether they will retain him as head coach or not.

OMG Chuckie got fired eek Well that would be the way I acted he did beat the Raiders in the Superbowl(TAKE THAT AL DAVIS) but since his team didn't make the playoffs I'm not surprised

I was a bit shocked that Gruden was fired. He won them that Super Bowl, but I guess didn't do so well in the other seasons. Well...this past season's meltdown didn't help either.

Giants defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo, has been hired to become the new head coach of the St. Louis Rams. I'm not too happy about this move. Spagnuolo was the main reason why the Giants won Super Bowl XLII. He had a great short career here in New York, and I wish him the best.

Hey looks like Singleatry has good rivals from both the Rams and the Cards.

I think Gruden could find a job back in Oakland. Allen might follow him there as GM. Then Davis might actually let the two coach. Gruden was good for Oakland when he was there. He'll always be with the Silver and Black. He was just awkward in Tampa. He fits the Raiders like a glove.
Lol. I dunno. Davis might just have too much pride though. xD

The Jets sign Ravens defensive coordinator to a four year deal to become their new head coach.
The Giants promote linebackers coach, Bill Sheridan, to defensive coordinator.
The Packers have selected Bill Capers to become their defensive coordinator.
Andy Reid will be returning to the Eagles next season.
