"Can't catch me!" Cyclonus cried, racing through the grass on his little blue legs, his half-brothers Demolisher and Blitzwing not far behind.
"Hey you guys, wait up!" Poe called, struggling to keep up with the three foals due to his friend Buka. "Buka, stop running in front of me! I'll trip over you!" Poe scolded. The little aqua foal just laughed and danced around Poe's legs, causing the colt to slow and try and dodge him.

"Cyclonus! Demmy! Blitz!" Poe called as they dashed behind a toadstool. "Those darn foals!" he said, and gave Buka a gentle kick.
"Forget about them Poe, come pway with me!" Buka said, giving Poe the most adorable look imaginable.
"I'd love to Buka, but you know the trouble those three can get into, and I did promise to watch them while Galaxy and Stormdramon went to visit Malliavin. I think they went to the other side of the vege patch, I can't quite remember," Poe explained.
"What about Awia?" Buka asked, sucking on his pacifier as he sat in front of the large grey colt.
"Arlia is watching the filly foals," Poe pointed out. Arlia had been telling Storm Quest and Ever a story when the colts had torn off.

"Hey Cyc, where are we going?" Blitzwing asked curiously.
"We're going to the vegetable patch! Buka said there are nice tomatoes there if you take the third lettuce trail," Cyclonus replied, leading the two younger colts through the grass and towards the vegetable garden.
"Oh yum!" Demolisher said, licking his lips.
"I heard there were turnips beyond the cabbage patch, shall we go check that out too?" Blitzwing asked.
"I don't want turnips, I want tomatoes! Oh, and can we go looking for carrots?" Demolisher asked.
"Sure Demmy. After the tomatoes, we can go to the carrots and see if we can get to one. They are beyond the lettuces the other way. We just have to follow the trail between the lettuces and the tomatoes," Cyclonus explained.
"Yay!" Demmy cried, increasing his speed. He loved eating.

So the three colt foals made their way to the vegetable patch while Poe tried to catch up so as to keep them out of trouble, and himself once Galaxy got back since he was meant to be watching the four colts. Luckily Buka was behaving that day.

The three colt foals loped towards the vegetable patch. They could already see the lettuces looming up ahead of them. They had almost reached the garden when Demolisher tripped and bumped into Blitzwing, sending the little colt sprawling into a filly that was napping on a pebble.

Cyclonus skidded to a halt and trotted over to the tangle of ponies. Demolisher followed sheepishly, quietly plonking himself down beside the older blue foal.
"Sorry!" Blitzwing apologised, quickly leaping off the dark pony and hopping over to his brother and half-brother, glaring at Demolisher. "We didn't mean to disturb you."

"I'm Cyclonus of Stormdramon and Galaxy Quest," Cyclonus said proudly. "These are my half brothers, Blitzwing and Demolisher, of Malliavin and Galaxy Quest."
"We are heading to the vegetable patch to eat. Do you want to come with us?" Blitzwing asked, tilting his little gold and green head to the side.

Meanwhile, Poe and Buka reached the vegetable patch first. Before Poe could start sniffing around for the three foals, Buka loped off towards the two large watermelons near the far side.
"Hey Buka! Come back!" Poe called, racing after the foal. Exasperated, he followed Buka to the watermelons, determined not to loose ALL of this charges.

"Ok, cool!" Blitzwing said. The three colts and the black pony towards the vegetable garden.

"Buka? Buka! Where are you Buka?" Poe called, stopping to sniff the air. He picked up Buka's scent, and followed it towards the watermelons. Buka was standing beside a melon, pawing at the tough skin.
"How do I get the pink insides?" Buka asked.
"You have to break it open," Poe explained.
"Can you help me?" Buka asked.
"I'm sorry, I'm not strong enough to break it. You would need someone like Stormdramon to stick his horn in it. I suppose I could try though," Poe added, seeing the disappointed look on Buka's face. He went over to a nearby rock and sharpened his horn on it, before trying to jam it in the melon's tough surface.

"Baku?" Demolisher asked.
"I think I heard that too... it sounded like Poe, calling Buka!" Cyclonus said.
"They must be over there, by the watermelons," Blitzwing said, pointing.
"Do you want to go over and meet them Sun?" Cyclonus asked.

A shadoy figure watched Poe sharpen his horn to try and spear it through the watermelon for little Buka. It gave a deep chuckle and appreached the two.

"Why hello there, little ones. And what, may I ask, do you intend to do to this fine specimen of fruit?" The dark pony leaned against the other side of the watermelon in order to avoid being seen. However, his loud, resounding voice carried over to them on the other side. "Are you attempting to open it? Seems a little difficult for a couple of young ponies like you, doesn't it?"

Sharpish white teeth revealed themselves as a smile in the shadows. Deth just couldn't help having a little fun now and then; and he found particular intrest in young ponies. He wondered what would be Poe's reaction, and if he really believed he could open the fruit alone.

Uh oh...aware of the new, older voice, Deth shrunk farther back into the shadows. He had not counted on an older pony to be near. He was afraid if they discovered him, they would accuse him of frightening or harming their children, which Deth had no wish to do. He simply wanted to get to know them, like a fellow herd member. He wasn't so good with getting to know adults, and he favored younger ones for their spirits and determination amoung other things. But that particular voice sounded somewhat familiar.

Sighing with relief, Deth peered around cautiously. Sure enough, there was Sunfire, looking as radient as ever in all her grace. He grinned slyly. Maybe this would be fun after all.
