Ambrose Closer You have to think of this in terms of ratios. I mean, for the japanese, she probably was just an average little midget. Like you are to, you know, whities such as myself. Why, aren't you PC today!~ biggrin

Ambrose Closer Now that's interesting. It's ok for very short hair then? How often do you do your hair like that? it does seem to be, actually. If I was to do little 'x's over every curl though, I think I would actually need about 200 bobby pins~ I've only actually done my hair like that twice ever, (within the last month though!) and both times my scalp has been sort of sore afterwords but no headaches as of yet!

for the faux dreads i have been working on some for a while cause i get lazy and stop making them but there is some very nice yarn that i found at a hobby lobby store that i have been crocheting into dreads.
teh yarn is kinda like moe hair i guess but its made of the same stuff as you make the faux dreads in your tutorial but its all kinda put together already. i just make one long chain then make a loop at the end of it and they look pretty natural and its is fairly cheap.
now i need to find my crochet box with all that in it... -looks around-

@Electric_Tok: If it's not insanely embarrasing, would you mind taking before and after pics? I have a feeling Christiana there may have faked her results! xd ninja
@apynip: Do you still have the brand or packaging for the wool? I've been interested in making wool dreads for a bit. There's also a tutorial by House of Dread that seems to work faster than the way I showed, so I'm eager to post that too. When you're done, or even while you're still doing it, could you lend us your pics? heart

But pics will be a can and will do. -salutes-
... -skuttles off to look for her box- and you'd think it'd be easy to find sence its my only shoe box... and converse shoe box at that... ( its from about 3-4 years ago...)
[edit!] FOUND IT! biggrin bad news is that i didnt save the packaging but i'm going to go through my fabric drawer tonight cause it needs cleaned out. it might be in there. [/edit!]

I'm considering the dreads... if only to wear home after my first semester at university! (Mwahaha.)
Might I suggest this site for hairstyles as well? I haven't actually had a chance to try any yet, but it has an extremely helpful-looking set of instructional photos for each style.

@ Ambrose: oh certainly~ I actually did just that...a few weeks ago.
a moment..I'll find them~
got them!
1. Straight hair (..actually my hair is wavy, but for unknown reasons, I straightened it before curling it...) http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w266/tok_nybota/IMG_1440.jpg
2. Pins are in! (my hair is pretty short...so the curls only make one loop. how sad..but I'm not willing to grow it out >< ) http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w266/tok_nybota/IMG_1486.jpg
3. Curly! (with interesting lighting) That was the ..2nd time I'd done that~ I curled it again 2 weeks ago for a jazz concert I was playing trumpet in, and it looked pretty awesome~ http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w266/tok_nybota/IMG_1497-1.jpg
Tada!

well I tried out pin curls! done with pins which didnt really hurt and wasnt uncomfortable.... but i have a whole lot of hair XP XXXactually my hair is naturally curly anyways... so it looks similar to this if I just let it dry naturally, except with messier curls on the subject of yarn dreads, Ive also thought about doing this, and trying felting it into dreads.... dont quite know if that would work yet...

does anyone think one might be able to pull off an edgy harajuku hairstyle with steampunk? i really like their hair styles but i dont know if i should go with one or if i should just keep my side swept hair as i grow out my hair.

Honestly I have no idea >< My hair is short so I dont do much except the occasional curling ^^ I have a feeling that extremely harajuku hair may be a bit much, but that is just my opinion
