i'm not as excited as you are, i don't see him being any more competitive than with petty. I pretty much accepted in the end of 2005 that bobby labonte probably won't win again. That's why i switched to a Jeff Burton fan.

I would rather see him in a ford than a dodge though.

You gotta admit though, Yates really isn't a bad team. He's got a better shot of winning there than the *old* Petty shop. He nearly got Martinsville a couple of times, but Jimmie beat him. Oh darn mrgreen

Bobby was the first driver I liked in nascar, and seeing him at a half way decent team in Yates.... He's got a shot for some wins I think

Also the spring darlington race in 04. Those were the two reasons i hated johnson

I'm starting to not like the looks of this situation. Yates just turned the owner points from the 28 and the 38 to the 96 and the 98. So now the 28 and the 38 will have to qualify on time for the first 5 races.
Seeing as the 96 team isn't even a Yates car, and Menard is only in NASCAR because his dad can write big checks, I can see this going south for the Yates team real quick. And now Menard is supposed to run a limited Nationwide scheduel. I think this is taking a step backwards by taking owner points from their unsponsored cars, and giving them to the cars in...less trouble I suppose.

i understand menard getting points because his father is a BIG help for their team but bobby has a past champ provisional and stewart would be the only other person he would have to compete against for it. Gilliland is out so the 38 car probably won't exist.

But I like Gilliland... sad I dont like gilliland, hes arrogant and thinks he deserves to be there, when all he did was win ONE Nationwide race and had a very few good cup races. And yes I know Tony Stewart is arrogant also, but he is one of the best in the business, so he can uphold the honor.

Gilliland probably will still be around though. There are rumors he may still drive nationwide for them until they can add a fourth car next year.
