At 5pm Eastern time today, January 12th, the Indianapolis Colts and Tony Dungy will hold a press conference in which Dungy will announce his retirement.

Tony Dungy has accomplished so much in the NFL, including leading the Indianapolis Colts to a Superbowl championship two years ago, setting an NFL record for most consecutive seasons with at least 12 wins or more, and so much more.

I have been a fan of Dungy dating back to his early days in Tampa Bay. He has been my favorite head coach in this league for so long. And as a fan of his work, and the NFL as a whole, we will miss him, and I want to wish him a happy retirement. He has deserved it.

Personally i think Tony Dungy is one of the all time great coaches both on the field and off. He does what all coaches should do and he does it with class.

I'm very happy he decided to step down while he is still at the top of his game and he is "young" enough to come back should he decide to try one more run. But then again he is a family man and im sure he'd rather sit at home with his family and watch his son play some college ball.

Best of luck to him.

I hope he has a fine and happy retirement. He has done many great things in his career and he is going to do another great thing. Being there for his kid. I wish him the best.

Tony Dungy is a sure Hall of Famer. One of the greatest coaches of all time. He was extremely successful with the Buccaneers and the Colts. Great record and regular season play. Although he didn't always do well in the playoffs, he won Super Bowl XLI, becoming the first African American coach to do so. He made Peyton Manning the player he is, and built up both his main teams to be elite.

It will be sad to see him go. He is probably retiring for good, but I wish him the best.

If Dungy does decide to make a coaching comeback after retiring, then think of the list of coaches available for 2010...

Dungy, Cowher, Shottenheimer, Billick, Gruden, Holmgren, Shanahan, and a few others.
