I tend to take all supernatural phenomenon in Tnach and Jewish Lore at face value and not a metaphors for lessons.

Krampus is Germanic and from the Alpines. He's a big, scary guy who goes around spanking the naughty kinderlach with birches. I think there should be a Jewish Krampusnacht. I'd call it Yom Tuches Poch, or something to that effect.
