Darknes has crept throughout the land faster than expected. The moon was no where in sight as the stars tried restlessly to brighten the night sky. It was a perfect night to haunt those that hid on the western island, maybe he would even break someone and freed from their soul. It had been far too long since it had fed, causing it to grow restless and violent at times. So far those that had crossed its path had recovered from their suicidal thoughts and left the island, leaving him hungry and alone.
As the stars shimmered softly in the pitch black sky it moved, its long cape flowing about its skeletal body in a frightening way. It drifted off the ground silently, only leaving its fowl scent behind it as it continued forward. Another was coming, it could feel it.
As it passed across the land a wicked grin slowly slid into place. More fun and maybe something to eat. As he glided towards the cliffs edge it noticed just how windy it truly was, its cape whipping about, causing quiet a bit of noise. Far too much for it to just ignore.
Frowning to itself, the skeleton body was soon forgotten. It didn't need it at the moment anyway, surprising others by being a shade was far more amusing for him. It it was smart it might notice its pungent smell, but most did not notice, giving it an advantage.
As the dark mass settled down it came to notice death had been their recently. The smell, so delightfully delicious that soon it found itself scouting about, looking for any trace of the soul that was left behind.
