Yes, I know that Israel doesn't want to kill civilians. Why would anyone? What I am saying is that everyone brings up rocket attacks like they're killing thousands of people in Israel, when really all those firecrackers can do is put a hole in a house. Granted I wouldn't want a hole in something I call home, but it's better than seeing dead people. I feel that Gazans have been a bit demonized within the media because of all these rocket attacks when really they don't amount to much. It's just attention seeking.
I know there can be accidents, and Behatz is certainly right about soldiers trying to find an enemy amongst civilians. This happens with American soldiers in Iraq rather frequently. But if the war in Iraq has taught us anything it's that you shouldn't go in occupying countries and killing people because you don't agree with their government. There are other ways, men just can't make money off of them.

Kingpin... I find it noble that you have a notion of fair play when it comes to military conflicts.
However this heavy handed approach has been on the drawing board for quite a long time.
Gaza once was occupied by Israel. So the Palestinians used terrorist attacks to force the issue of independence. Think... Northern Ireland.
Eventually the land for peace deal was struck. All Israeli settlers had to pull out of Gaza, which they did, some by force via Israeli Military who had to capture Israeli civilians who didn't want to leave Gaza.
So we let them have Gaza.
Now after 15 civilian deaths, Israel has moved to demilitarize Gaza.
Because even with the bombardment and the ground forces moving into Gaza... the rocket attacks have not stopped.
Imagine what would happen if each one of those 11,000 rockets they sent across the border, killed an Israeli.
The only difference is, Israel has longer ranged and more accurate weapons.

darkphoenix1247 Sorry I didn't get on here earlier and read this. Zumbi- You're out of line. I respect your opinion, and I agree that many people just read the news without wondering about bias, but dancing was asking a question about opinions in order to learn more about the conflict right now. Please be nice, or refrain from posting, Dancing: I can see where he is coming from, as when you say "what I've gathered is Israel is....using some really dirty tactics...[insert], that is ignoring some key information. BBC did not report that there were insurgents holed up in some of the schools and many of the killing of innocents were complete accidents- Israel is generally pretty accurate (not perfect), and they don't aim to kill innocents. I know you didn't mean it that way, but you did come across as anti-Israel. I appreciate you not being combative in return, though. And not just in this case but to everybody, I think (and hope) you all are above at least 13. Please act like it. I'm not going to lock this thread because I am quite interested in some of the discussion and information, so please don't make me regret that. Thank you! 3nodding As for my opinion, I don't agree with what Israel is doing right now, but I do think something needed to be done. They need to get out fast before the media turns further against them, though. So sue me for having family in the area that is getting shot the snot and shiz out of them by Hamas, for having lots of family members in the IDF, for knowing that true Muslims don't kill and love Israel, and that I am the son of an ex IDF high ranking general.

There are other ways, men just can't make money off of them. Here are a few videos that you need to see, that show the truth of Gaza and the people in Gaza. The people in West Bank are different. They are peaceful and Israel wants them to have their own country and want to be allies with the West Bank. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OhBPyscPmUhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56Rtx04TYPohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bxJDzkDlNohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLIdxF-GHWwhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1M4eH9Kk7IWatch and learn.
