Bleach is the story of 15-year-old Ichigo Kurosaki. He lives with his dad and his two younger sisters and lives a fairly normal life. Well, if you count being able to see ghosts normal. It was fate who decided that his path would cross with that of Rukia Kuchiki, a being known as a Soul Reaper from the mysterious Soul Society. When a Hollow attacks Ichigo's family, Rukia offers to lend him some of her power to defeat the Hollow. However, Ichigo ends up absorbing every last bit of Rukia's powers, making him a full-fledged Soul Reaper.
Main Characters:
Ichigo Kurosaki: Basically the star of the series, Ichigo seems to be sullen and unapproachable ever since his mother's death, however he is very kind and can't resist trying to help those in trouble.
Rukia Kuchiki: A Soul Reaper from Squad 13 in the Soul Society. She is a very good actress when she needs to be. A running gag in the series is her lack of artistic ability.
Orihime Inoue: A cheerful and bubbly girl, and one of Ichigo's classmates. Her hairpins, worn in memory of her older brother, are the source of her power, the Shun Shun Rikka. While she may seem ditzy, she is actually quite intelligent.
Yasutora "Chad" Sado: One of Ichigo's classmates. A teenager of Mexican descent, Chad is quiet, and despite his looks, is gentle and it has been stated that he likes cute things.
Uryu Ishida: Yet another one of Ichigo's classmates, and is a being known as a Quincy. Uryu has an unusual interest in sewing, and he's generally shy and quiet, however he tries to act cool when other people are around.
