Nasidia dipped her muzzle into the clear pool, drinking deeply of the soothing liquid. The morning had been spent hunting, with only minor success; smaller game was all that she had managed to catch, and it was barely enough to keep her from feeling the hunger pangs. It was just about noon, and she had chosen to take a break - maybe a nap, too, since the shade around the pool was thick and cool - before going after some larger game.

A nap... Actually sounded quite nice right now. With a jaw-gaping yawn, she set about finding a comfortable place for herself. The spot she eventually chose turned out to be a dip in the ground filled with soft grasses, conveniently located under the branches of one of the biggest trees. Here, the mahogany-colored rex settled in comfortably, her nose only feet from the cool waters of the pool.

Heavy footsteps sounded just beyond the pools' borders as firey-colored male walked through the brush. Gold eyes stared at his unusual surroundings as the lingering of thirst followed the satisfaction of a good hunt. Tarak had managed to snatch a lost cattle, eating only part of the fat animal and leaving the rest for those unfortunate in their prey pursuit today.

Now, the scent of water caught his attention and he made way; he stopped and stood still at the borders though. A female Rex had taken louging next to the pool; being wary, Tarak carefully stepped over to the edge before lowering his head; the liquid was soothing and delicious in his dry mouth and he took his good old, sweet time with his drink.

The dozing female opened one eye and tilted her head to get a look at the newcomer, unwilling to move from her spot. She rumbled a sleepy greeting to the bright male and yawned, but a whiff of blood - fat-tasty-cow blood - wriggled into her nostrils and caught her attention.

If a rex could sigh wistfully, Nasidia certainly did. Smell's like you've had better luck than me today, eh, Sunrise?

((Her nickname for him for the moment xd ))

Tarak had not been expecting for the female to awaken, so when the sleepy voice suddenly cropped up in the silence the male jerked his head up with an alarmed snort and attempted to back up...Unfortunately, his foot slipped and he tumbled halfway into the shallow pool with a loud splash.

Grumbling to himself, he lifted and shook out the water clinging to his scales before returning his attention towards the female to return the greeting.

Have I? Or perhaps the cow had the stupidity to wander into a territory of a dinosuar like myself? He wasn't normally this grouchy but the unexpected dive into the water had set off a slight moodiness. I mearly took advantage of the lesser preys' actions. It was far too much for me to eat in one sitting though.

Nasidia's stubby little shoulders rolled in the rex equivalent of a shrug. Like I said... Luck. Not so much in the grace department, however. She probably would have laughed, had he not seemed so irked by his tumble; no sense in irritating the fiery male further.

...Besides, there was that half-eaten cow to consider.

Saving the rest for later? She asked innocently, trying not to seem too terribly interested.

Tarak cocked his head at the question, mentally smiling at the hopeful hint lingering in her words. He gave a soft rumble and nodded, pretending not to notice her tone.

Yes, Miss. He turned away from the pool and looked off in the direction he had come from. If you like, I can lead you to it. However, I don't know how much of it might be leftover. There are plenty of scavengers in the area that have not had the greatest of luck with meals.

((Is it weird to find this cute? They're enormous carnivores... xd ))

No need for formalities, Sunrise. She said offhandedly, bounding easily to her feet and walking carefully around the pool, not wanting to muddy up the waters. Th'name's Nasidia. Yours? She asked as she neared the flame-colored male, finally noticing his golden eyes.

I'm not too worried about those scavengers. All I've been able to catch lately is snacks. The female sounded a bit rueful; her hunting abilities tended toward average, and her timing was usually a bit off.

((It is a little weird. x3))

Eyeing the female with an odd expression at the nickname she had given him, Tarak turned away from the gold eyes that mimiced his own and set off towards where he had left the carcass only an hour or so beforehand. "Nasidia...that's an interesting name. I am called Tarak, but..." His eyes glittered with good humor. "You may call me Sunrise if you wish."

He continued forward as the wind blew up the faint scent of blood. "Snacks? Hm...then may I suggest hunting near the main water hole? Most prey there are sluggish and stupid, a good place for hunting when times are unlucky."
