Ok, so I'm going to have sex for the first time soon.
We've talked it over, and I'm going to go on birth control and we're going to use a condom.
But I was wondering, is the ONLY way you can get pregnant when using a condom when it rips? Or is there always a risk (when it doesnt rip)?

No method of birth control is 100% effective even when it is used exactly as intended. That means if you get on the pill, take your pill every single day at the same time, use condoms, and never notice a tear in any of your condoms, there is still a chance that you will get pregnant. But that chance will be incredibly small and certainly nothing you should be losing any sleep over.

There is always a risk. I am a condom baby, so I guess I'm a little glad, but if you're on birth control AND using condoms, I really don't think you need to worry about it.

yes there is a very small chance of you getting pregnant if you use both condoms and birthcontrol correctly. But you more likely to get hit by a car, or crash in airplane. So if you feel safe about flying, you should feel really safe about this.

If there is a small defect in the condom, not visible to the naked eye, semen could leak out and you could get pregnant without it ripping (but same concept). As others have said though, that risk is very very small. Just be aware that you can get pregnant even if you're using birth control and condoms.
Also be aware that pre-c** has sperm in it, so if you decide to "tease" each other or use the pull-out method, you can get pregnant that way.
