So I don't mind Hip-Hop. Aussie Hip-Hop that is. And I don't mind it from the U.K. either. But don't get me started on America, I'm sorry but they haven't nailed it since the early//mid nineties.
Trip-Hop I adore. It's seductive, psychedelic and dark. It blends electronic elements perfectly with its beats so I don't care about the rap part of it. It all just works, especially with deep smooth vocals.
And now to Grime... so far I can tell its still only around in England, specifically more around London and East London. But what the ******** is it? It sounds strange, very strange, its some sort of harsh, mashed-up, electro, new thing ((To me anyway)), with grammatically wrong sentence structure. But that's not the worst bit. Oh no, the worst bit is... So far I don't hate it.

But don't dare tell anyone I told you this.

Yeah, I have never heard of Grime.
XD

Some songs are alright.
I obvs. don't listen to it much.
And when I do it's usually the older stuff.

I've never heard of Grime, but it sounds like something I would enjoy. Any recommendations?

Trip-hop on the other hand, I love. Stuff like Massive Attack and whatever else my Pandora radio gives me. Very good.

The older stuff is better, if anything it's mostly the 90s stuff I listen to.

Massive Attack are a favourite of mine. So is Tricky and Sneaker Pimps.

As for Grime, no idea. They play a fair bit of it on skins ((A show you've got to see at least once.)) You could try googling to see what artists come up or try it on Pandora - it no longer works for me but if it still works for you go for it and let me know what you find. Also try researching pirate radio as that's where most of it originated.
Try here> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grime_(music)
It tells me Roll Deep are good. Lady Sovereign seems one to check out too. But it also has Dizzee Rascal there so that sure raises some questions...
Then there's Grindie - the fusion of grime and indie. ((But its not a real genre more a name the press are accused of coming up with to modernise this mix of Hip-Hop and alternative. Thankfully it isn't as horrific as nu-metal turned out - no Limp Bizkit disasters here.)) There is one particular band I love from this "genre" - Hadouken! Check out Get Smashed Gate Crash, That Boy That Girl ((you'll probably know this one)) and Liquid Lives. This is a good place to start if you want a taste without being overwhelmed. Very danceable too. A very good album. And no, my friends don't know, but then again, they haven't asked.

That's true enough I can't even see see genre anymore. I listen to everything, if its good then its good and I don't care what style it is.
But when you think about it with technology and globilisation people are sharing and experiencing the same things like never before. We all relate to a wide range of things much more than previous generations and that's gonna show through our sub-cultures. And the life span of a music genre these days is about 5 years if their lucky. You've got to evolve at lightening speed to survive these days. I only discovered dubstep in the last year or so and I can already see it's changing and is different from its roots back in 2000//2001. And every time a new place discovers a sound they put their own spin on it. Every time something enters a club a DJ takes it somewhere else.

Haha nice. I've heard Grime a few times but i haven't REALLY gotten into it. Trip-Hop is cool too. >.< I've never talked about hip-hop/rap much before so it does sound weird. I loved how you phrased it L_E_G! heart

Hahaha thanks, well that's why I'm here.
Now I'm officially into Hip-Hop. And dare I mention my returned love for Eminem?
