Parasaurolophus (meaning "near crested lizard") is a genus of ornithopod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous Period, who lived about 76-73 million years ago.
They are herbivores, and are both bi and quadrupedal (meaning they can support themselves adequately on just the hind legs, or all four). Parasaurs are also herding animals, and are rarely seen outside of their protective family groupings.
While placid once tame, actually working with these animals can be difficult due to their highly skittish nature. Its hard to separated from their herds, and even when accomplished, just as hard to calm them enough to work with. While they lack no sharp teeth or horns for weapons, their massive size could easily be used to trample an inexperienced trainer.
