Catalyst lounged aloft an extending rock, that hovered just above a large body of water with a small waterfall that had formed over the years. Catalysts back pointed to waters crest, that curved inwardly, and allowed the water to freely slope into the awaiting pond. Fish gathered graciously within the main body of water, straying from the waterfalls bottom. They knew to well that the pull from the falling water would suck them in and under, tossing them about. Though this meant little threat to them, they decided it was best to not 'play' with it.
Catalyst rest on his side, the canopy of tree's shading his body from the blazing sun. Basking in the shade, he breathed, his chest raising, filling with as much air as it could, then exhaling. His tail slid gingerly into the waters surface, and swayed in the moist thickness of the pond. Fish gathered to the furry substance, and nipped at it to test its flavor, but Catalyst neither moved or made a gesture to move. He had fallen into a deep sleep, his forepaws extended and crossing over one another while his hind legs did the same.
Not even a thought passed through his eased mind.
((Mmmm, bad post.))

Soul had made an escape from her captivity once more. Thirst was the first motive to leave, yet hunger and deprivation of life soon clung to her like her own flesh and blood did.
She had left the nesting grounds in Isaac's care.
Now, she wasn't sure if this was a good or bad idea, for she herself knew he wasn't to fond of children, but she trusted him with her life, and their kids life. If he were to do them any harm, it would be merely an accident.
Or so it better be.
Soul lopped forth, sneaking out from the deep, earthy den and shook her pelt clean. Her eyes, drizzled with fatigue, scanned the area, before she turned about and poked her head into the dens mouth. Peeping back at her, was Naib. The rambunctious young female who enjoyed following her parents out of the den. She wasn't one to like enclosure, and Soul knew this for a fact. Jerking back a bit in shock, Soul scoffed, then looked at her daughter sternly.
'Naib, go back to sleep. You can not come with me.' Soul's features could not stay stern for long, for her maw curved into a sheepish smile and her eyes squinted with the grin. 'Your father will watch over you for a while....Mum needs her time' she breathed heavily. She loved using 'Father' and 'Mother' in her sentences...only because she knew she was talking about herself.
Naib crawled out of the den slowly without looking at her mother. Once out, the tiny pup shook her pelt clean and peered up towards Soul. 'Mummy, I want to go too!' Naib nearly jumped with her words, her tail lashing about, so much that it almost knocked her down.
'Nonono dear, you can not go with me. I'm going to be taking a long walk, you'll get tired easily and want to go home. I can't have that now can I?' Soul shook her head, and lowered herself onto her haunches. 'Come now,' Soul's mouth gathered around Naibs nape, and lifted the pup upwards. 'Go back to bed' Soul's words were muffled, but Naib was sure to hear them clearly.
Growling softly, Naib shook her body to and fro, tossing her weight downwards in her mothers maw. 'Mummy, let me go! I wanna go!' Naibs voice became a high pitched whine as she began to feel tired of moving about. 'I can walk far, I can I can!' Naib glanced towards her mothers face, she could see that Soul was caving in.
Now to add the finishing touch.
'Mummy, I love you please let me go!' the auburn females face sloped into a frown. Her lower lip beginning to tremble and her ears flattening against her cranium.
Soul dropped the pup on the ground softly, and took a step back, her own harks flicking in distress. 'Ummm....' she huffed softly. 'Oh, alright. Come now, we must take our leave before the others awaken, but heed my warning Naib, I wont be picking you up if you get tired!' Soul made a 'nook nook' with her tongue, as if tisk-ing, she then smiled, turning about and nudging the pups rump to go forth.
Naibs eyes twinkled with surprise, and she quickly took lead, fumbling over her large paws as she slid under fallen logs and attempted to dodge thick shrubs.
Their walk was indeed long, Soul staying close behind the younge brown pup, making sure she wasn't falling behind. Naib on the other hand, was having a good ol' time. Straying slightly from her mothers keep to following staggering beetles or flying wasps. Occasionally, the pup would jolt back in surprise at the retaliating bugs, but she'd let out a screeching bark that would scare the critters away.
Soon, the pair made their way to the pond, the sun casting vibrant shadows of black onto the evergreen grass. Soul prodded Naibs rump towards the water, where the two flopped onto their bellies and drunk peacefully.
Soul was uneasy though. There was another about, and Soul could see his furry head poking out from behind the rock. She watched him steadily, her bodies weight shifting about uncomfortably. Naib noticed him too, but chose to ignore him when she caught sight of fish. Her eyes began to bulge as she watched them through the rippling waters.
'MUMMY! MUMMY LOOK! They move in the wa-ter like...like....' Naib was at a lost of words, she couldn't clearly describe the fish with her short vocabulary. 'Pretty mommy, pretty.' Soul nodded to this aspect of the colorful array of fish. They were indeed pretty. 'Naib, please be careful, don?t fall into the water'
Naibs body leaned forwards a bit, her ears shutting out the pestering words of her mother. She couldn't help but want to be in the water with them, it looked like much fun. Extending a paw, Naibs fur bristled with excitement. Yet, the banks of the ponder were slippery, and caused the young pups body to slide down. In an attempt to save herself, she twisted her body, only to fall into the water on her side. Soul gasped softly, then chuckled. The water was no more then a foot deep, and the area that Naib had fallen into was even shorter of a distance to the waters bottom. Naibs head poked out of the water, her fur matted down against her skull, her eyes sulking slightly in disgust. Soul craned her neck, and plucked the pup from the waters surface, and plopped her down on the warm grass beside her.
Naibs body dripped as she stood, shaking her pelt off slowly. She could feel the winds now, through her fur, causing her body to stiffen. Chills ran along her spine, and in a desperate attempt to rid of them, she ran up to her mothers soft fur and yelped.
Soul's head jerked up as a rustle came from the two's background. Her eyes met with the other's head, though she couldn't see if it was moving or not, she knew the repetitive commotion brought by the pup and her mother would surely awaken it.

And indeed it had. Catalyst's eyes shot open, and searched the area in front of him for any sign of an intruder. Then, he inhaled, testing the air for scents.
Strangely, there was someone about, and their scent caused his mind to trigger a memory.
His head lifted slowly, his body pushing his neck upwards. Lifting onto all fours, he looked to his side, his head held high in authority. There, sat two females. One older then the other. Catalyst cocked a brow, and took another whiff of the air. One of the females seemed familiar, yet the other caused his mind to draw blanks. Their scents were mixed with another, another male at that. Catalyst calculated that this was a mother and a daughter, and quickly, his tired features became curious ones. The elder female looked old, yet she still had beauty that he'd never seen before. His body tensed slightly as he pushed off the rock and stood before it, and before the couple.
'Hello there.' His words were hoarse and raspy with his growing age and fatigue filled body. His eyes watched the two curiously, his mind working like the clocks of time. The elder looked so familiar...well, he would never know until she spoke, or at least came closer.

Soul watched the bulky body lift and look their way. Mother like instincts kicked in, and soon Soul was on her feet, hovering just above her child. As she watched him stand, and peer her way, then leap off the rock, he resembled someone she once knew, but she shook those thoughts away, and concentrated on protecting her young.
'Hello.' Her voice shattered her disposition. Giving her an almost unnatural look. Soul was so used to being kind hearted, and open to others that she'd never hacked into the evil, protecting and demanding side of her. Or at least not in a long while. Her fox like pelt gleamed now in the little light that portrayed through the opaque cluster of leaves, and her eyes showered the male in their golden glory.
Naib watched her mother take action. She was obviously taking this male seriously. She could sense her mothers uneasy tension rising with every waking moment, and this made Naib feel uncomfortable. Centering herself in between her mothers fore paws, she quivered there, her eyes never leaving the other.

Catalyst's eyes flicked as he watched the light hit the females pelt. He felt his knee's wobble and his body become weak. His ears flicked back against his cranium and his eyes swell.
That time had come, the moment he had been waiting for, for the longest of times. He'd ventured through every wooded area known to man, beast, critter...he'd traveled through ever season, at least four times, and he'd asked every single lupine he'd ever met about this female. And now, here she stood, showing so much power, yet so much grace. His throat began to ache as he forced a few words to tremble out.
'S-Soul, is that you?' at this point, the pup was merely an image of his imagination, she was the only thing there, no one else existed. The waterfalls rampaging sounds soon faded in the males ears, and only his silvery-gold eyes and her golden eyes filtered through his mind.
'You-Your alive?'

Soul searched for words, she knew not of whom this male was, yet he knew who she was. Her head cocked in surprise as he announced her name, as if it were known by many. Her tail hung low in confusion, and her eyes simply widened in surprise.
Suddenly, she too felt weak, an overwhelming feeling of shock surpassing through her. Still, she didn't know who he was, but there was so much familiarly to this male that she wanted to break down and cry. She didn't know how to tap into that lost portion of her memory, and so, she murmured softly to the male.
'Who-Who are you?'
A sickening feeling went through her body, and found a position in the pit of her stomach where it sat, and ate away her suspicion. She felt so bad that she didn't know who he was, but he knew her plain as day.

Catalyst stiffened. His body steady as stone. He eyed her for a moment, his soft features turning that of anger. He watched her confusion rise, and her weary outlook of him worsen. He shook unnoticeably, and slowly found the words to curse her ears with.
'You do not remember your own father? The one who was there for you when....when the times were rough? How can this be! How can my daughter, Soul, not remember her father....Catalyst?'
He hoped by using his name and hers in the same sentence that it would draw memories of her childhood, but he tried to focus on the present, his eyes beginning to glisten with the gathering of tears, and his heart beginning to ache with the pain of knowing.

Soul's eye brows quirked and her heart began to sink.
'Father?'
Her body became much like jello. It had the ability to stand, maybe sway a bit, but it was forzen in the position it stood in now. Only someone with the utensil to move and destroy her could...and Catalyst was doing much of that right now. Though, he wasn't tearing her apart, he was indeed bringing back hurtful memories of the deterioration of their pack, the blood shed, and her sibling. She mourned quickly, before shaking her head.
'How'd....How did you survive the....the war?'
Her eyes drifted down toward her pup, who was steadily becoming less and less uncomfortable with the whole ordeal.
Naib sat, befuddled by all the commotion being caused by the two, her eyes slowly shutting in a light slumber.
((mmm, ok thats enough for now. X-O My muse is sloooowly moving away. I may finish this off later on tonight. <3))
