*Sorry for the long wait* Moving without hesitation, Skolir jumped into the river, headfirst, and began swimming after Persona. It had carried him nearly twenty feet before Skolir was able to wrap his tail around him. Gouging his claws into the riverbed, Skolir anchored himself down, still holding onto Persona. "Gosh, that was a close one. I should have been more attentive." Swimming back to shore, Skolir placed Persona gently onto the grass and took a look at his paw. "Ouch. Nope, there's no way I'm gonna let you walk back on that. Do you mind if I cary you back?"

(heh, no worries)
Persona was floating away, frightened and shocked. He couldn't stop himself like he had done earlier. It was getting dark and the current was quicker and suddenly he had been stopped by a warm blanket. Skolir pulled him out of the water. His pounding heart grew slower and he felt less scared. He felt a bit guilty for what had happened. "No please carry me." He liked to be carried around, it made him feel much more important, besides his paw really did hurt. He let Skolir do what he must.

"Very well then." Skolir phased into his elf form, and crouching low, helped Persona climb onto his back. "I hope you don't mind me carrying you in my elf form, it's just that I feel like I run a bit quicker in this phase, and I have a better grip when I have apposable thumbs at my disposal." Skolir stood then, and jogging at a reasonably fast pace, headed back the way they had arrived. Although he did not have his heightened senses the he otherwise would have had in his Dragonfly form, Skolir knew well enough these woods, and had no problem locating the exact path the he and Persona had taken earlier. "I do hope you parents don't blame me for your injury, though I do deserve it."

Persona held on tightly to Skolir. He was just glad to have the help of an elder. He wanted to get back home and perhaps rest. He wanted to tell of todays story, and brag a little bit. He continued to feel bad though. He did not want Skolir to be blamed for his foot injury. Persona mumbled quietly though he meant it, "I'm sorry..."

"Oh no, it's quite alright. The fault is not your own." Skolir said, cutting off Persona mid sentence. "I can handle whatever your parents may have to say. Honestly, if it had been my own youngling that had ventured off with an adult, I'd be pretty upset if that adult had allowed my youngling to get injured." "Although," Skolir continued, "Your paw seems to be doing pretty well considering the fall you just took. It wouldn't surprise me if you were up and walking around tomorrow even, though I wouldn't suggest it." By now the two had ventured deep into the emerald forest and were well on their way back to Persona's home.

Persona held tightly onto Skolir. He tried coming back ont the subject, not feeling relieved from his guilt, "I just feel like I wasn't doing anything right..." He was sure glad Skolir was bringing him back, the sky was getting darker, he wanted to see his family and perhaps rest. He didn't wait for Skolir to reply to his remarks, the thoughts were slowly slipping off of his mind. "Thank you Skolir." He said beofre leaning his head against the elf.

"Oh, quite the contrary" Skolir said. "You have some serious skill for one so young; you almost caught a fish even bigger than mine! And I think it's your passion that's gonna help you get through anything life throws at you." Feeling Persona lean his head against him, Skolir fell quiet. Of course the child was tired. He exerted himself today, what with all the traveling and swimming. Skolir smiled. "Ah, this youngling reminds me so much of myself when I was his age. Wanting to prove myself to anybody and everybody I could."Skolir thought to himself. He slowed his pace, noting that he was entering a more populous location, and that he'd soon be at Persona's home. "Hmm, perhaps I might be able to stitch you up before I drop you off. Then your parents may be more reluctant to forgive me. What do you say?"

Persona was daydreaming, thinking of the next time he could go fishing and maybe invite his siblings with him. He felt a little bit anxious for a thought of them being better than him at the activity was creeping onto him but he snapped out of it when Skolir made the preposition to stitch him up. "I guess," he said nodding. "Will it hurt?"

"Not at all" replied Skolir, smiling. He took an immediate left and set Persona down on a log lightly. "Wait here for a second, I'll be right back." Skolir ran ahead the trail he was following, and found what he was looking for almost immediately. A plant with blue leaves was growing to the side of the trail. Skolir knew this plant well, for he had used it numerous times to assist in healing the many injuries he had received over his lifetime. He picked it lightly off the ground. Running back, he knelt down beside Persona. "I'm going to rub the oil from this leaf onto your cut. It stops the bleeding and kills all the bacteria." He squeezed the plant in his hands and let a few drops of the leaf concentrate fall onto Persona's paw. "There now, that should heal much better." Skolir stood up and tossed the plant to the ground.

Persona waited for Skolir hoping that his injury would be mended. When Skolir came back Persona got a little bit anxious. He trusted the elder but still feared that it would hurt. With relief Persona felt no pain other than the usuals with an open wound. He thanked Skolir with a great big yawn.

"It's no problem at all" said Skolir, taking a step back. He noted that the sun had finally set completely, and the stars were beginning to come out. "I believe this is where we part for today, Persona. It has been a very eventful day, and I do hope you enjoyed yourself. I trust you will be able to find your way back home from here?"
